Team 7 Thread

Finally after bucks again. Put in 1 nice sit this weekend but nothing showed. Heading out after work again tonight, hopefully tomorrow and Friday as well.

Nothing last night. Scouted Sunday and a bunch of my spots were pretty dry of any sign. I found a pretty hot feed tree near one of my bedding areas so I'm going to hit that tonight.

CO archery season is over. Im having tag cereal for breakfast. Yesterday morning was promising. I had to get out of the tree and put a stalk on a couple nice bucks. I was closing in when a dang 6 pt bull elk that I didn't know was there slid between me and the bucks, never saw them again. Then I had a doe that I passed on at about 25. Last night I passed on a doe and then a fork horn at last light. Couldn't bring myself to shoot the little guy. I drew back, contemplated and then made the sound of arrow hitting ribs. Then I let down and went back to the truck. Been quite a while since Ive burned a mulie tag. Now Im wishing I had put more effort into my deer tag this year but it didn't happen with all the other hunts. Im afraid this is a tag burning mentor year. I likely wont even go hunt for my pronghorn doe with the old lady drawing her 10 year buck tag. Maybe I'll be surprised and she'll fill with time for me to head half way across the state to shoot a doe, but only time will tell. I still have a cow elk tag and then Alabama late season. I'll put a minimum of 10 pts up then.

First actual buck that showed up on a camera at a productive apple tree in daylight....well the last edges of it at least.

I have a camera on every apple tree this year because of our very wet summer apples trees(mostly green ones) are the hot item. I haven't had a chance to get out yet but hopefully this weekend before my wife's family comes in for a week.

If I found apple trees anywhere I would hunt them exclusively until they dried up. I think that is by far their favorite food when available. There is a crab apple tree across the street from my house and the does are out there almost every night, sometimes 2 hours before dark to eat those apples. Bucks even come out almost 1 hour before dark early in the season. And this is in a neighborhood. I can only imagine if it was back in the woods.
