Louisiana here. Our bow season starts October 1st and I took off the first 8 days of season. I worked my tail off in the off season and told everyone in the department that I will be taking off now hunting season is here. Got a new camera setup, on two different leases, have close to 300,000 thousand acres of public to hunt and will be chasing the rut during season yet again. Hope to put some gooduns on the ground again. These are a few from the past few years on public.

I used to duck hunt years ago but got out of it because of the idiots on public. Got some buddies that own farms in the delta and invite me to duck hunt every year but I haven't taken them up on it yet. I deer hunt some public in the delta and the number of ducks and geese I see every year is insane. Also the duck hunters will help push them out of the high spots in water some, so if ya can find a good funnel on the edge of flooded timber you're in a good spot during duck season.

That’s what we end up doing at the end of season in January. We get 10-15 guys in a flooded slough that the woodies love and as soon as shooting light hits it turns out to be an all out war!! It’s one hell of a time!

Lol. When I'd hunt public you're limited to 15 shell limits per person,and never failed when everyone run out ducks would start workin good and we'd just let um work, so I wouldn't shoot any until everyone else run out and then let them work ducks for me.

That’s exactly what I do when I hunt public in Arkansas. That’s how you know a seasoned hunter from a greenhorn.

I’m from Chesterfield County, little town called Matoaca. My Hunt club’s in Sussex/Greenville Counties. Cypress Swamps and pine cutovers at different growth stages. Ag fields too, but unfortunately, not on our lease. Big bucks but pretty tough to bow hunt.
