Team 8

I need opinions. This bed was right after the shot probably 75 yards and only a few minutes. She wasn’t far probably 40 yards but moving not a full run but they were definitely bumped. I was probably 18 feet in the tree she was slight quartered to I would say when I pulled the trigger. She immediately tucked her tail and pinned her ears back and slowed way up as the other 3 passed her. Blood trailed for hours after I jumped her from that bed. She went straight down hill (215 yards as a crow flys) then began to go uphill I’d say about 50-60 yards then back down hill about 150 yards where she crossed a brook and lost blood. She had a few good spouts of blood trail but most of it was pin dropsIMG_0289.jpeg

This was in that same bed to the right of the mucus blood pile IMG_0291.png

I should note that we didn’t take up the blood trail until 2 hours after I jumped that bed. I can’t see blood well at all so I called my buddy who’s very good at tracking and he came to help we lost blood a few times but didn’t go far before it picked back up and then would die out again

High one lung is my thought. I think I did the same thing few weeks ago. I walked up on her in the dark. She didn't run. So I backed out, and came back the next day. I couldn't pick a trail back up. Had blood where I last saw her. May have seen her when I first got there. Not sure. Smaller one ran off first and I watched her. Missed the bigger one standing there. Then she slowly trotted off. No blood where they were. So can't confirm. That quarter in seems to open up a lot of no man's land. Expecially if your a little high and forward. Screenshot_20231226-225603-139.png

Find anything exciting @Tim0712 ?
Big old negative. I think she herded back up. I stayed on her tracks from last night we got a light rain overnight so no trace of blood. I followed her track found a bed about 120 yards from last blood. Little hair in it and what looked like a small clot she got up and walked north from that bed and there’s about 10 sets of tracks coming east going west that she walked into. I checked every possible bedding location I could to no result

Too wet to hunt today where I’m at. I got one more hunt this year on the 1st. Man, just looked at the standings, we got smoked this year.
I was really looking forward to that grand prize..
All well. We were the team of almost! Lol..
I think I got a few more sits. Gonna try Saturday morning. What I see will tell what happens from there. I saw 4 small does with my daughter in the blind the other night. Pretty sure they were all this years fawns. Tasty. But not very big. So will see.

I have today and tomorrow. I won’t shoot a doe as far as I’m concerned my doe tag is spent after losing that one. Hopefully get into one of these bucks today or tomorrow as tomorrow is our end of season

Currently eating that “I won’t shoot a doe” comment. Had to of seen 20 today saw one buck and missed :( what’s the odds that die lived?!?! I had a die out In front of me real slow never could catch up to her or even get a shot opportunity but she never ran walked right through the middle of everyone

I was in the saddle this morning. Didn't see any deer. Took a walk around and saw a few. Refused to shoot the little fawn doe. One more day tomorrow. Might take my son out one more time if I am up for it. But will be in the blind.

I saw 2 fawns yesterday myself little girls hardly ran they just walked 10 feet away and stood there looking at me. They were the smallest deer I’ve ever seen

Tomorrow is my last day. I’ll be headed out for most of the day. Gonna try and end it with one more in the freezer.

Strangely enough my rifle season starts the second (deer cull).

I went out tonight for my last sit of the season. Didn’t see anything. Can’t really complain, I’ve had a pretty good season.
