Folks, lemme tell y’all something. I messed up having a kid born in October. Hosting his 4th birthday party Saturday on what will be this year’s first legit cold front. Maybe just maybe the wife will let me slip out that afternoon.
I feel bad for my dad... rifle opener is November 15th in Michigan, I was born November 14th. I may have ruined quite a few hunting trips growing up with birthday parties, but as an adult it does make for a kick ass birthday. So just think about how awesome it's going to be to taking him hunting on his birthday at some point.

10 doe 2 buck this AM. Small buck and doe in range but too early to punch the tags. Should have more opportunities

Passed a 2.5 yr old yesterday morning at 7:30am. There's just to many 4 to 5 yr olds to go after...here on my new Ohio lease. I'm having issues with a large landowner nieghbor who says all the deer belong to him. Its a real issue of hunter harassment...it all started on October 1st, but tell me what you think about this pic guys 20201017_215154.jpg

I’d report this behavior. Just seeing this pic makes me mad for you and your situation there. Absolutely abominable. Really really dislike a poor sport. No matter which sport we are talking.

I had to call the sheriff...when I was pulling my camera he pulled up on a tractor and we exchanged words then he decided to get out of the tractor cab to come give me a visit...I told him it was best for you to stop right where your at...at that point he got back in his JD...I have pictures of him and the tractor messing with my.personal property...not a smart "fredo" by any means...

Yes thats the way and direction I prefer...however this guy told the CO the deer are his...and he will protect them from crossing into the property im leasing...now this guy and his two sons are deer hunters...the sad thing here even under the hunter harassment law they may not take any action against him...you know years age before the outdoor channel really changed the deer hunting culture these issues never happened...the question is has the big rack mentality hurt deer hunting as a whole? I believe it has...I love the presuit of bowhunting I just don't like what these TV personalities have done to a great sport

Deer make people do dumb stuff. I agree whole heartedly with your perspective on this matter and its root cause. It is up to the individual to maintain the purity of the pursuit. Good sportsmanship isn’t on the forefront of topics for most of these outdoor personalities. Not all TV hunters are suspect, but still.

Ya we don't want to paint a broad brush and say they all fit the MO, but sportsmanship on these shows is non existent. It's a topic they don't want to touch. That being said...I'm still having a good time this season and its all about my time being spent with my twin brother and his son - my nephew. The strategy conversations and meals make every moment worthwhile. Some people lose sight of what's important about deer hunting...For the sake of brevity, ill sum it up this way guys...deer hunting is all about the bonds you create within those deer hunting pursuits...its not about the kill or hoarding the resource...Its truly about the relationships...Relationships are far more important than bragging rights...most of us get it - some will never understand it...

Nice looking setup! Very interesting way of attaching your bridge. :)

Screw that gate closed bro!

I noticed that pretty quickly and screwed it off!

Had four does that came in but didn't get an opportunity to draw on any of them. Buck movement seems to be picking up, so the doe killing may take a back seat for several weeks.
