Team 9 Thread

I’ll finally get a chance to hunt for myself this afternoon. I’m going to one of my best doe spots. My son had a nice 8 get past him yesterday at the same property. Temps in the high 69’s isn’t helping much though. My dad was able to attend the veterans hunt and notched a tag on his first Missouri buck. He served for 30 years in the army. It was nice to get him on a hunt.

Michigan gun opener was yesterday. Saw deer pretty much all day, saw lots of chasing but mostly spikes and 4 pts. One 4 pt bedded with 80 yards of me 3 different times!!! One year and half 8 pt at night just not big enough to shoot. At the end of night I counted 27 does/fawns in the freshly planted winter wheat. Trying to hold out to shoot one of the big does with my bow. Need to do some work on them for sure.

Well my honey hole took some massive storm damage and lost all of its big oaks. It seems the neighbor is feeding massive amounts of corn anyway. I have had two days where I could actually hunt for myself and not taking someone else but I haven’t seen a single deer. My draw hunt opened today but I’m so frustrated with the season so far I don’t even want to attend. I’m currently sitting in the blind with my daughter listening to shot after shot but seeing nothing on our end.

Hunting with a suppressor this year. My point of impact changed as expected after screwing on the suppressor. Those were my three shots to re-zero at 100 yards. Ready to go for Monday morning.

About ten minutes after my morning post my daughter shot a weird looking buck. She was super excited. This will be her last season before graduating high school and on to who knows what. I’m glad I could share it with her. Oh, and she killed the blind too.

I had to let a hammer of a buck walk yesterday afternoon. Missouri raised the price of tags so I bought tags for my kids and I didn’t get a buck tag. I have some archery season left so I can still contribute.
