For the new 8mm ropes made by Tethrd, could you still use a ropeman 1? Or would I need to get a ropeman 2 because the specs fit that size rope?
Definitely going to look into that, thanks!Think a lot of guys are going with the Kong duck for the 8mm
I run a RM in my Lineman’s belt. And a prussic on the tether. It bites fine. But just in case....

Not THEIR ripe. But 8mm oplux. Same same.
No issues so far. Tons of folks using ropemans o that size rope. Even on the madrock safeguards as well. Those rated for 8.5 or 9 at least. 8 works great in there as well

Things work great until they don't. It only takes one failure at the wrong time. There's reasons that specs are giving on climbing equipment. But if its working for guys that use them, i guess thats the ultimate answer.
I'd sell the ropeman 1 and get a kong duck. Ropeman 2's are a pain because of their teeth designFor the new 8mm ropes made by Tethrd, could you still use a ropeman 1? Or would I need to get a ropeman 2 because the specs fit that size rope?
Tethryd is now selling an Oplux lineman's rope and tether? Ah, that might be why there is an Oplux shortage.
I'm anti-establishment and don't peddle anyone's gear, but I do understand the cost of their rope. Its slightly stronger than OPLUX...So at $2 a foot (about same as OPLUX), your $15 for the rope. The sewn eye is another $25. Prussik and biner another $20. You are already at $60. Then the cost of packaging and shipping...another $15. So, all of their profit is in the savings of making their own rope. It is expensive, but reasonable for what you are getting, if you prefer to buy instead of making it. My tether and LB (practically the same) cost about $42 to make...each...and I don't have a sewn eye.
I agree 100 percent. That said I’ve been using a webbing bridge with austri alpin buckle for two years and it’s not even rated for climbing.Things work great until they don't. It only takes one failure at the wrong time. There's reasons that specs are giving on climbing equipment.
