Tethrd "1" stick VS Catalyst Carbon Pro

I have been watching reviews and everyone has been talking about having a shorter set of pins on the top, in this video i believe the ones in orange on top are 1/4" shorter than the standard black ones. View attachment 45419

The ones I just got have black pins. Not gonna be good if people get different setups right out of the gate.

Why the heck didn't they have the aiders ready the moment the sticks dropped? Sloppy. They know people will be wanting to have an aider that works right away. It's still antlerless season here in Virginia.

Certainly a major design oversight in my opinion. A $100+ 17" step-step stick with no aider needs to weigh 1/2 lb.

They're cobbling a solution together, and who knows it may be the bees knees. But that is not the way to design a product.

Are they the same length though? do you like the build quality of the stick? I'm debating of buying a set
The quality of the build feels and looks really good. I haven't been able to get them on a tree yet...city living is killin me.

After double checking the top pegs are a little bit smaller than the bottom ones. One of my sticks seems to be extremely tight where as the others are snug but not annoyingly tight. I would think this super tight one loosens up a hair after some use.

So they just got back to me. They are sending me a rope and some fancy new orange pins to replace the black ones. Not sure what happened but curious to see if the swap is easy and what the different experience is like.

Which stick came about first, the “Sh1kar” or the Tethrd “1”?

Good luck!

I saw that same commercial and was wondering what was up with those pegs.

Got my tethrd ONE sticks in today and they are great... I wear size 12 boots and have no issues whatsoever with the ONE stick. I think there is more foot room with the ONE stick then with my carbon pro sticks I had . I would definitely recommend them if you are on the fence.

Only complaint I have with the ones is the dyneema mine came with is pretty stiff so it's a little rough to get in the notches.

I agree I think it’s a great stick and I’m impressed with how it packs and locks to the tree.
I have to give it to Tethrd it’s a very well thought out design that gives you just what you need to climb.
A lot of guy’s may not feel they have enough foot room and I get that but I’m fine with it.
If you are in the central Kentucky area your more than welcome to come try out my setup.

Was laying my hellcat out last night looking at how I could attach all my stuff. Nice looking setup. I'm convinced enough that the hellcat will be a good one, enough so that I just sold my Shape Charge, which pained me but found it to be a tad big.

good luck ripping them from my cold dead hands.
