Tethrd Knee Pads vs Arc Teryx vs Trophyline Knee Savers

If you want to save some $$$ just get the Alta Contour360...same pads, lower price point
Wow ... they look EXACTLY the same. I'm thinking that they're likely the OEM for Latitude. If so, the price makes sense. Their website (Alta) does not have the grey color as a choice, so that makes them different. Just a hunch and good for them. That's just how business works. At <$60, I think I'll give them a try.
Thanks for the tip!

They mentioned in a video that they are just selling the knee pads they had been using for a few years after reaching out to the manufacturer, so I would assume they are the same knee pad.

It makes perfect sense. And like I said, good for them. I just now ordered a set in black (they also have cammo, coyote and green for $2 more), and this supplier has a 10% sale on knee pads right now (gets taken off at checkout), so they were only $50, plus shipping ... "TYD" (as they say) for under 60 beans! I feel good about it. I really don't like the look of the buckles on the Tethrd design. I think I'd break them in very short order. I have a habit of breaking things, lol.

Thanks for the link ... I just bought from this suplier. See above.

Has anyone tried the 2021 First Lite pants with the built in knee pads? Wondering if they are sufficient enough for the tree
I have not, but I'm intrigued by the idea. That said, it's an internal pad. I doubt it would take too many saddle hunts to wear a hole in the fabric of those beautiful $200 pants from constantly rubbing against the tree bark.

Could you do a new version of the “tactical slide” once you receive these???

I bought these today at harbor freight. Had some camo gorilla tap that I covered the front with. Used them today, and they were perfect. Even better - they were like $13.

Edit - here's a picture of me doing a practice climb this evening. How about them burrs! Lol.

Anyways, the harbor freight knee pads were perfect. Able to adjust them to my comfort, and they gave my knees a nice protective feeling when I was "sitting" in the saddle.

I have these and even did the exact same gorilla tape lol.

I made it 1 season plus 8 hunts last year and broke down and bought the arcterics.

I do not regret the decision. Those were not great for me but tolerable. I made it a full season and then some.

Any preference yet? I keep saying I don't want to spend $75 on a set of knee pads, but I'll probably end up doing just that. Especially if they stay put while walking. My knees are junk and there are barbed wire fences to go under everywhere here in AZ. That's in addition to needing them for saddle hunting. Super curious to hear someone's side-by-side review. Might have to wait till next year though.

Ask me this in October after a few hunts and I can tell you. I wish I had known the latitude were just a repackaged brand. I would have saved the $20 bucks.

The ones on the tethrd are a thicker heavy duty version of the arcteryx buckles. I have no worry about them breaking.

Ditto there is nothing wrong with Tethrd’s buckles.

I don’t wear knee pads in. My opinion would be the tethrd would be better walking in.

So I had some time today to try the latitudes and tethrds out. I don't think you could wrong with either knee pad both are comfortable they both wear alittle different. I think if I could only choose one I would go with the latitudes they are just alittle softer. The soft caps have alittle more give to them. Both are way better then the knock off versions.

I was about to post the question if anyone's tried the new Tethrd knee pads, but figured I better check first, lol! Here's a link to them.
As a carpenter, I've owned several pairs of knee pads. My personal concern is if they move around a lot (or not) while 1-sticking. I bought a pair of Husky's from Home Depot, and they're rock solid, tough and comfortable on the tree, but they're big and bulky and I'd rather not pack them in if there's something better. Then again, they're also half the price.
I have been looking at buying these

The vintage trophy line ones are the best I've used. I walk in with them on 99% of the time and rarely have to adjust. My only gripe is how long they take to dry out. I own 3 pairs now so I don't have to use wet kneepads...I live in the sunshine state so naturally u get rained on virtually every hunt.

agreed - I tried my sitka pants with the internal knee pads for an afternoon hunt and kept having to check if there was a hole in them. There wasn’t, but I wouldn’t try it on a good pair of pants..

Get a nite ize rope jam some paracord and a hunk of foam from Walmart and just build a cushion. It’s going to last way longer and it’s far not comfortable imo
