I'm not the best at expressing gratitude, but I gots to try.

I was the beneficiary of a very generous gear auction @Vtbow and @boyne bowhunter put together. @Squirrels, @thedutchtouch, @TreeMunkie, and @cville_bowhunter, y'all's gear purchase funded a stroller and infant car seat for Nutterbuster Jr., set to arrive sometime next summer. And there's enough left over to stick in a savings account we've dedicated to the little goblin.

I didn't see it coming and had to stare at my paypal notification like a dummy for a good bit trying to wrap my mind around it. Heck, I'm still wrapping my head around it. My wife cried. I mean, she's pregnant so she cries at a lot of stuff, but still...

That's definitely the coolest thing done for me by people I've never met in public. I gotta get with @redsquirrel now and see if the store stocks saddlehunter.com baby clothes or at least a sticker for the seat and stroller.

Thanks again not just for the gift, but for the years of discussion (heated and otherwise), camaraderie, deer contests, and in-jokes. I think this is hands-down the coolest forum on the web.

I have a pink saddlehunter onesie heading your way soon so you better hope it's a girl. I think the product must have been discontinued in the store. My littlest one is growing so fast that it won't fit her soon :disrelieved:

Honestly @Nutterbuster , I had no idea who we were benefiting. I just had some stuff stored I knew I was never gonna use so I figured it might as well go to a good cause based on my trust of @Vtbow 's word. Now I'm doubly glad I could do a little to help someone I consider a friend who I've never met in person.

Congrats on your expanding family! Children are definitely a life changing event, but only for the better.

If moneys getting tight u could always auction off some gps pins to some of ur hunting spots since u won't be doing any of that for a while.....hahahahaha
Yeah, yeah, yeah. lol

I keep telling folks that if I never kill another deer in my life, I'll have still killed more critters than most. I'm honestly ready for an excuse to ease off the throttle a bit. That said...I have a parcel 15 minutes from me that doesn't require a boat to access and I've been scouting it hard. I definitely won't be driving 4-5 hours up the road on the weekends for a bit, but I've got a few stand locations where I can be AIS within 30 minutes of leaving the house.

In the 1800s, pink was a masculine color, so we're cool either way. Send it!

Thanks man. We're stoked. We held off on having kids right out the gate so we could play and enjoy each other's company and build a little wealth (it ain't much, but we've got more than either of our parents had at our age). I think we're at a good place for it and while it can be nerve-wracking I'm generally excited. I've always liked kids, despite my fondness for calling them names.

Um, I didn't know who this was for. Can I get my money back?
Just kidding.
I guess it says something about this site that it never occurred to me to even question who was going to benefit from @Vtbow's auction. The overwhelming majority of folks here are good people which is why this is the only place I hang out online.

@Nutterbuster congrats again. I think you will find you enjoy it immensely. If for no other reason than you will now have a captive audience for your Southern Scholar Neo-hippie musings.

Unbelievable! We're gonna have a baby nutter. Congrats man! That's almost better than baggin a trophy buck. :tearsofjoy: Seriously happy for you. Just think, you will now have someone to teach all about the great outdoors. I think you'll be a great dad too. Again congrats.

Great, selfless group of people on this forum. Congrats to the new Dad and what a blessing to have children. It is one of the best gifts you can imagine. @Nutterbuster, you’re a thinking man and a natural educator, you will be an awesome father. You had great examples and mentors growing up too I can tell.
I’m praying for you and your family and the little one and ones to be. I was a part of the whole process from start to finish, it is so rewarding. I’ll never forget how long I just stared at my newborn daughters. Thier fingers, toes, everything about them. Amazing the creation. You’d a thought I was looking at a map full of deer terrain features to consider setting up on the amount of time I spent just looking at them. It is an amazing process.

I think I told ya a while ago that you need to have some kids. I’m glad you took the advice! The world needs people like you procreating.

Men are scared of loosing their freedom when having children. If you’re doing it right, you will gladly stay home from a hunt to be with your family and young kids.
