I have never tried bolts. I have tried crandord rope steps and was not happy with them. Plus, I already surpassed my hunting budget for this year. Maybe I’ll have to give it a whirl next season.

I am going to give this a try with golden buck steps and some ameristeps. I already have the straps and the flat hooks. I ordered some OCBs from @DanO last night.

BTW, that was some incredible customer service. I placed my order at 7:52 PM. I received an email that my order was complete and had a tracking number for shipping at 9:07 PM. Unbelievable!

So this is a Bullman steps method just more packable and tighter to tree. Correct? Is there a weight difference between SS and Bullman steps?

Yes. I have to do some editing on @denots' climb. But I want to show apples to apples, up and down, with both methods. Probably play them in split screen and maybe speed them up a bit.

As far as weight difference on bullmans, not sure. 8 squirrelies weigh about 4.5lbs. I like the OCB because it is much tighter, and you don't have to thread the cambuckle.
 
Great video Nutterbuster! It’s definitely faster than I had imagined.

Can you do a short video at some point up closer on a tree just illustrating how tight the step gets?
 
Thanks for the video i gave it a thumbs up, im gonna have to time a climb and maybe video with the cranfords. I feel like the timing is about the same. It also seems like you're pretty proficient with those OCB's. Great video as always.
