The No-Shame Thread

I’m pretty much a northerner and I love grits. In fact a lot of times it’s my go to for a snack. Needs just the right amount of salt but can never have too much butter.

It's like cream of wheat, but you can actually eat it and not consider suicide
Grits without cheese is about as yankee as it gets... Don’t tell me anything about butter and salt only is fine I won’t hear it.

Okay. I'm officially a yankee. . . . 58 years old and I can honestly say I've never tried grits. In fact I can't ever even recall seeing grits.

I mean we have cream of wheat, right?

First time i had grits was in North Carolina (military) decades ago. Locals had a get together. I asked about adding jam or jelly to my grits. I was told I was precious and handed the salt, pepper and butter. I guess that is the correct way to eat grits. Actually tasted good that way. New experience for me.

Cheese man.... cheese

Seems like an appropriate time to admit I've never had grits...

... And probably never will :)

hahaha , you gotta be sloth like up in the tree!
Actually, I hate to admit it. And hopefully it's just been a good year, but I've had more opportunity out of my stand this year than I have out of a saddle in the last 3....

I dont have enough fingers to count the number of days I woke up this year to go hunt, brushed my teeth, then sat back down on the bead to put my pants on and fell back asleep....

Disclaimer: I have a 5 year old and 2 year old son and my wife works in the medical field....

Sometimes when I’m bored I like to strip, then cover myself in Vaseline, lay down in the backyard, and pretend I’m a slug.

I can’t read that without having Deep Thoughts about Jack Handy

Where’s the love for the banjo pickers? We exist too! One would think a hunting group would lean heavily towards banjos and fiddles.

And no shame in my game that I pick a banjo (not good, but I do pick one) and listen to bluegrass music.

Weekday mornings at 0600 and Saturday mornings at 1100.......you can thank me later.

Now grits...... grits with a couple of sausage patties and a couple of over light eggs chopped up and mixed in is where it’s at. Oh, and put your salt in the water and cook it into the grits. You can never add enough after they’re done.
