The No-Shame Thread

Bought my first pair of reading glasses today.....2x
I got 20/20 according to the eye chart but close up stuff getting blurry.....staring at a weld puddle for years and years probably didn't help

Just wait until your eyes get dependent on the readers. I’ve got a few pair scattered around for when I lose/forget the ones on my head.

Do u wear #9 shade or anything looking into the furnace or u just roast ur eyeballs?

Congrats on ur vision tune up. Like I said...my last eye Dr says 20/20 but I was hanging out with my bff Friday evening and his wife was showing me something on her phone and he noticed me moving the screen further away to look at the pics and he handed me his glasses and the magnification is nice for the close up stuff...I can definetly read the the small print on the blueprints better

I have spent the past 24 hours binge-watching youtube trout fishing videos and am now considering selling my swamp shack and moving to the smokies.
We have some stocked trout streams as well as a lake with darn good trout fishing. My biggest was an eight or so pound brown. We also have a stream with a reproducing population of McClod rainbows near my place. Come on up sometime and bring a fly rod.

U don't ever dabble in the saltwater stuff? If I got u on a feeding school of specks u wouldn't be thinking about those dinky stream trouts....but I totally understand the allure of the mountains

I don't use a shade but I do have a shelf overhanging the front of my forge so I'm not looking right into the bright fire up close.

U don't know what u missing.....my favorite is the #9 face shield. Saves ur eyes, protects ur face, and real lightweight. I got no shame in admitting I'm anal about PPE in my shop. Screenshot_20230501-094233~2.png

I think we discussed this same feeling in you before in the distant past. I have a mountain trout stream (a relatively poor one though) in view of my front door and the fishing is very similar to the microfishing you are doing. I really like love the small stream trout game and have fished most of the streams that drain the tennessee side of the smokies and caught thousands of trout in the 3-9 inch range, but the grass is always greener and I am now interested more in the salt at the moment. The fishing all comes behind all my other obligations and hunting though, so its a little to far down on the priority list at this stage of the game to get a ton of my attention
