This is why bears suck

They will do it to cherry trees.too. I feel sorry for ya. Hooe you can kill em. Plant about 5 acres of corn that will put you on the map if isn't any around you

That's the thing, the dang corn is about 75 yards away and they're hitting our sawtooths instead!!!

Bears are here for sure. If i can help get @Bigterp on 1 when he's here in the area ima do my best. Ill be keeping a ear open for locals that may be having troubles and will stuff him in a spot. Issue is most corn probably be chopped by time hes here and bears be shifted to mast in the mountains

Do the same here in PA. Crap looks like creamed corn.

And this is why bears suck too!!!! These are 16 year old Sawtooth Oak trees we planted on this property. Just happened over the weekend, they climb up and break the branches and rake the ripe soft spiney acorns into their mouths. This is the second time this has happened in three years. We bought and planted these trees for their rapid growth and quick turnaround on mast crop production for game. We were hoping for more food for the deer and turkeys.... not the bears. I don't care that they eat them but dang, why do they wreck the tree!! Some of the branches are a good 3-4" in diameter and they just snapped them right off. I've seen this in wild Beech groves as well it looks like large nests in the beech trees.
They will do the same to fruit trees. Damn stupid things

Everybody loves the cute bears till they have 1or 2 hanging around where they live..... We've had nothing but trouble outta them at my grandma's orange grove....the neighborhood that was built up the road has problems with them...1 guy we talked 2 had them break into his house to steal the dog food

If they ever open them up to hunt again I got a score to settle

Every. Single.YEAR Virginia is where I am. Wardens hand out kill permits fast anymore 4 per permit. Fill it and they give ya another 4

It's nuts that VA now requires a separate fee for a "Bear" permit. If it was still included in the normal Big Game license/Stamp package as it was a few years ago I may be willing to help out on "managing" them. But since the state wants to cash in on the influx of Bear hunters down in the south/southeast parts of VA, I'll just continue watch them walk by my stand.

Yep can thank the bear hunters association for that and they have now become their own demise. These hunters treeing 60 70 80 bears a season and not killing a 1 has now backfired on them so they are now starting to kill bears they wouldn't ever even think about cause folks around are shooting them.now

Are drones allowed since they are on kill permits? Under normal circumstances drones are illegal to use to aid in hunting in VA. There was a bill this year introduced to put the bear tag back on the big game license but it got shot down. If you buy the sportsman package I believe it comes with a bear tag. For $100 you really cant get a better deal than the sportsman package. I would love to shoot some just to get rid of them but I dont really wanna fool with one after its down.

Have no clue on the drone deal just what ive heard. And I figure most farmers don't care when a bear is raping 550$ a acre corn they just want them dead cause thats their livelihood. Thats all I buy is the sportsman package. Figured that was the only way to go. And what your saying is why most people don't usually shoot butb1 and thats it. They are a pain to even deal with and not really worth it

Yall ever seen the kinda damage us humans will do to an ecosystem? My view is, bears were here first. Sure, hunt em if they are messing with your livelyhood or to put food in the freezer. But dont bear them any ill will. They dont understand property and crops. All they see is calories.

Here's a pic of a bear destroying a wild pear tree. He stayed there for days breaking limbs and eating pears.

Grandma got a handful of mulberry tree on the property and they do the same to them.... Hogs have killed all the orange trees since it has become a non-working farm.... My kids won't get to know sketchy ladders and orange tree spines in the winter like my sister and I

The farms 2hr south of me and all the trees are done and gone...these are off the internet ..grandma supplements her income allowing people to keep bees on the property...the neighbor on the other side of the road still had a working orange grove and the bees pollinate and we get some orange bloom honey
