The orange cord is bungee cord that goes around my wrist sir. I removed the regular one that comes with it and replaced it with the orange bungee because it is a little tighter around my wrist and doesn’t sag down or get in the way right when things get exciting.Do you have it attached somewhere? I see the orange cord.

Not if you’re gifted.you got this on backwards no? I also love my Carter Wise Choice
Bingo!I went from an index to a thumb this year. I'm actually having mix feeling about it. It could also be because the thumb release I had was setup as a hair trigger when I got it used (Carter BK Target). And practicing with it in the safety of my backyard, this was not a problem. But in an encounter with a deer, I just feel more control over trigger is better.
That's said, just from my perspective, 99% of professional archers are using thumbs or hinges so you can't argue with a proven method by experts in their field.....But I think a good deal of hunters still prefer the index because the the control you have over the shot is worth the lack of accuracy.
Used to use a thumb release and really enjoyed it. As crazy as it sound once my beard got too long I couldn’t find a solid anchor with it. Also had one and loved it, had another and didn’t like it as much. Which turned me off of them for the time and I went back to wrist strap. I know you asked about thumb and everyone above has had great advice and style and brands. Did wanna mention something that I’ve found recently. That a high quality wrist strap like a Carter is more of a blend in thumb button and wrist strap as for as the trigger is concerned. If you don’t want to get away from wrist strap try a Carter Like Mike. Designed by a 3D archer. It’s made a huge difference for me. Surprises me every time. Will definitely be considering a thumb release to try over the summer. For hunting though for the life of me have a hard time going to a thumb button. Keeping my shots 30 and under the “accuracy” difference is none (for me is should say) at that close. So I don’t get the need for one even though I do enjoy them.
Yea give one a try! They resell for a good price so you don’t lose much if u don’t like it. Another note I wanted to add is everyone is different so if someone says something is good it doesn’t mean you’ll like it. I shot the Spott Hogg wise guy and it’s supper popular for being good. It is good, built awesome. Trigger even turned up the highest it could go was too sensitive for me for a hunting situation. Again that hits my point as some will read this and think I’m an idiot for saying a trigger is too sensitive. Just didn’t fit my style but it didn’t mean it was a good release, if that makes sense. Take the off season and try several of everything. It took me a long time to find one. Even had a few I thought were the one and nah.Dude, had that same question when I tested one out. I have a beard and that anchor was just all up in it! Interested to actually shoot with one. I’m gonna look up that Carter Like Mike.

Dude. That’s something I never knew I needed. That’s a product you get mad about for not thinking up yourself. Thank you.I use a Spot Hogg Whipper Snapper and absolutely love it.
I added the total peep release holder last season (see below link) and now I never have to worry about dropping it or having it twist my string while in the saddle. Best $10 I ever spent.

I have a big beard and am trying to envision the issue here. My anchor has always been string on the tip of my nose, knuckle on my cheekbone just below my eye. The only change from a wrist release was which knuckle.Dude, had that same question when I tested one out. I have a beard and that anchor was just all up in it! Interested to actually shoot with one. Exactly. It doesn’t matter if it’s the most popular item on the market. It’s all about comfort and preference. I’ve been shooting an index release since the start over 10 years ago. It’s not even a brand name. It’s been great. But It’s like a glove/wrist strap so it’s in the way a lot. Im not a big fan of the wrist straps because I’m used to pulling something with my index, middle and ring fingers, and there’s nothing there with the new ones. So that’s kind of why I’m interested in a thumb. I may hate it. We shall find out. But I definitely won’t be trying it until next season if I do like it. I purchased a B3 Versa. Got a crazy deal from it. That’s why I got it. Not sure if it’s even good lol. We shall see.

But then the trigger would be on the wrong side of the release? Unless im going crazy lolNot if you’re gifted.
I mean left handed. Hahahaha. So yes. You are correct. It is backwards to a right handed person.
Please see this generic internet photo of a left handed grip on a thumb release. Hopefully it helps visualize it a little better. But then the trigger would be on the wrong side of the release? Unless im going crazy lol
