Depends on climbing method I am using. Weights include saddle, pack, and everything else.

With Muddy pro - 16 lbs
With LWHC - 17lbs
With 5 WE steps - 19lbs

JX3 hybrid with a five step aider and a stacked outdoors stick. Also a lineman‘s belt and a tether rope. 14.3 pounds. With my small pack about 17 pounds.

In the past year and half ive lost 70lbs, so im probaly -50ish lbs.....does that count? Lol
Ive been meaning to weigh all my stuff but am also afraid that im going to see how heavy it really is and start wanting to buy lighter gear which means a lighter wallet.
If i had to guess though im probably somewhere in the mid 20's with all my gear and other essentials.

Are these weights including bow/gun?

I really think these comparisons are best when limited to the weight of the core three elements of saddle hunting:

1) Climbing system including all necessary attachments straps, and aiders.
2) Saddle including any necessary attachments for climbing and hanging.
3) Platform including attachment method.

Maybe a 4th item is the pack/transport system as that allows for comparisons of the walk in (not just the climb and hang), and allows the non-pack systems (jx3) to play the comparison game.

Everything else is personal preference about what to take in the woods with you. Unless these all get itemized it is impossible to compare setups one to another. Weapons, accessories, clothing, food & beverage, camera gear, etc will vary in weight based on choice, and thus throw off the total weight comparison.

If you carry stuff that I think is unnecessary, sure your total weight will be higher, but that doesn't help me see if I can lighten my load by adopting something from your core 3/4 elements. If you are a spartan hunter that shuns carrying things that I like to bring then your weight will be lower, but this likely does not encourage me to change my setup.

We can learn from each other's overall carry list/weight, but that requires itemizing everything and discussing the pros & cons of carrying a seemingly infinite number of items.

I break it out into 2:

1. Climbing Method (strapped on back of JX-3): 4 Full Size LW sticks with Dan O double steps on top, amsteel daisy chain mod, and one aider for the first stick = just under 10 lbs.
2. Everything else (all packed in JX-3): JX-3, all ropes, fanny pack w/ hunting gear, hunting hoist, etc, Squirrel Steps ROS (all packed up JX-3) = 19 lbs.

29 lbs total.

This excludes clothes, water, and weapon. Also excludes the following which ride in my pocket: car keys, folding pruning saw, cell phone..

FWIW: Hunting pack that rides in the JX-3 includes: Hunting license, tags, pen, 2 gear hooks, thermacell with screw in mount, 2 extra butane and a few extra packs for thermacell, headlamp, rangefinder, wind-checker, a handful of those reflective clip on trail markers for blood tracking, a 1,000 lumen flash light for tracking at night, grunt tube, hunting knife, small binos, and extra cell phone battery.

I like this approach. I was just wondering what my core system weighed, this post got me off my butt to finally do it.

Total “core” weight = 13 lbs 7 oz

1. 6 WE stepps with vet tape, 4 step aider, bag = 6 lbs 11oz
2. AH Kite with tether, LB and bridge (all 3 OpLux with Kong Ducks and oval twist lock carabiners) = 3 lbs 12 oz
3. Predator platform and daisy chain = 3 lbs

Also weighed my Badlands day pack with essentials like gear hanger, compass, first aid kit, etc... no food, water or clothes, that was another 8 lbs. And my bow with 4 hunting arrows was another 6 lbs 10ozs. So I figure I’m walking into the woods for a public land run-n-gun hunt with a minimum of 28 lbs, and well into the 30’s once I add the rest of the crap I carry.

14 lbs including bow ,arrows and EVERYTHING.
But for some reason, some people don't like my climbing method. But guess what, I don't care, lol.
Check this out.

Mine will be much less. 3 LW Sticks, 5 screw ins, range finder, gloves etc. It should be under 15lbs depending on how much the new trophyline saddle weighs. If I don’t use it every sit it’s not going in my bag.

I hunt private land with presets and public land and my system changes with that..

My base system for early season preset is a kite saddle with amsteel bridge 9ft tether and linesman belt both with spliced eyes and ropeman 1's on both, 2 tethrd dump pouches, HSS pull up rope, vortex fury binos which also doubles as my range finder, my kill kit which is a havalon knife some rubber gloves my tags and my license, and a headlamp... I dont need a pack early season everything listed goes on my saddle or and is worn in but total weight for my base system is 6lbs 13.75oz..

Add a pack climbing method and platform choice for run and gun hunts which changes depending on where I am hunting.

My kit currently is 23lbs. That's kill kit, pack, a wind/rain layer, binos, csmera, rangefinder climbing method, platform, saddle bow with 5 arrows etc...

I can likely reduce my weight by swapping out my bridge for a different one which is in progress. Drilling holes in my sticks, replacing my evo with a kite (Not an expletive chance I was told). Changing my tether to the @Nutterbuster tubular webbing style. Or by ditching the camera. Replacing the saddle will save the most weight. Unless of course... I buy a big enough property that will allow me to hunt pre-sets...
