Purdy ... Don't you go scratching that up in the woods... Good luck out there, shoot straight!

Big Jim Thunderchild Takedown
54" 28@50 2nd year with the stick bow. No shots take last year. A stick to the right eye walking to stand in dark am ended my season way too early.

I’ve always loved the looks of those bows. What’s your draw length? I doubt a 54” bow would handle my monkey arms - I think I draw between 30.5-31”

26. Yeah, probably a 56. Jim always available to ask. Very user friendly.

I used to think that about shorter bows too. I draw just of 31" and love shooting my 50" browning cobra. I dont find that it stacks at all. I also have a pearson Mach I which is 52" I really like too but needs refinishing. I did have a Bear K-mag that stacked like crazy and I got rid of...

Come on trad team, lets get some points on the board! Headed out for an hour or so tonight after work... Get out at 4:30. 20 minute drive. 10 minute walk in on the farm--probably setup over a tried and true apple tree/powerline/path intersection, 15 minute setup ish(havent hunted here yet this year). Sunset is just after 6:00.... hope to hang for like 45minutes. Better than nothign!

I will shoot another doe given a chance. They gave us 3 doe tags this year plus the buck tag.

Nice. we get(to buy) 2 doe and a buck. IF I see 3 dear in all seasons total I'll be lucky, let alone get a shot at 3! HA!

Nice bows guys. Bummer I got here last this year, missed the team picking. Im shooting a metal 21" SF riser at the moment with Border Hex 7.5 limbs. I have a 21" Tempest on order. Bow is 45@30", 521.5gr arrow at 27%efoc. Calculated 195fps, should make 2 holes this year.

Somehow I missed this thread. I shoot a 54" Fox Breed Recurve 55# @ 26". I'm still new to saddle hunting and have only practiced in the yard. Here is the deer I took this year with my recurve. I was sitting in a Hammock Seat on the ground wearing my ghillie suit. Shot him at 14 yards.View attachment 7158
Nice! Thats the sportsmansguide ghillie you posted right? really good looking deer!

I got a saddle on the way and is it difficult to shoot longbow out of it

My flatbow is 63" my asl 64". Much easier to shoot them both out of a saddle than my treestand...dont have to worry about bottom limb whacking the platform.

Can be. First year I tried it, couldnt hit anything. Just gotta try and see how it goes for you. I now gap shoot and no issues.
