Treehopper Steps. On-the-strap nesting

Mark will have 3 strap/buckles...
The OCB is for guys that want ROS, is a beefy buckle that weighs 8.6 oz. I have not handled it, but he says it has tremendous tightening compared to lighter OCBs. I guess it depends on what you are wanting. He wants to sell a heavier-duty OCB. You can buy just the steps and use your own strap/buckle.

The strap that comes with steps for climbing (as opposed to ROS use) is a lighter weight cam buckle because it doesn't have the stress on it that a ROS has. Mark has a thermal press that compresses (stiffens), tapers and melts the very tip of the strap so it's easier to thread into the cam. That strap weighs 4.6 oz.

The 3rd strap is for the Treesuit stand. It weighs 9.2 oz but is a hook-style cam.

Cool! Thanks for all the info. Looks like Mark over at TH is really putting out some great stuff. I’m a big fan of the TH drill.

Thanks for sharing Tom.
I have the heavy duty OCB strap. Man, that thing can split a tree. Very robust and you can really get that ROS tight and solid.
Mark said he’s going to work on a hook for it so you don’t have to unthread the buckle to get the strap around the tree.
He also said he may come out with his own OCB that is lighter weight but still more robust than what most people use.
The one I have is probably overkill but it’s nice to have a larger handle to cam over instead of those little thumb busters.

You made the step mod and the video, brother.
Thanks Paul.

It’s 4” from the back of the step where it butts up to the tree to the tip of the step. The step area is just over 3”.
Step width is 1 3/8”
Height from top to bottom is 5”

Yes, they created and updated version of the anderson sling and its awesome.

I recently got one of his new saddles and I'm anxious to get out in the woods to try it out! Unfortunately it just keeps raining here instead of getting cold and snowing. As soon as the weather cooperates, I'll get out and give it a good tryout. ;)

I'll probably get 4 or 5 of these to set from the ground to get to 7 or 8 feet and eliminate one of my sticks.
