I know I’m a freaking curmudgeonly troglodyte, just hear me out for a spell…
Am I the only one who wishes these and other sticks had a cam buckle option?
Probably the only guy.
But couldn’t we use a cam buckle strap with this somehow?
Tell me how, please.

Hyper lite is not exactly the combination of misspelled descriptors I’d use for cam buckle straps.

I just like them, though. And I am not wholly unconvinced there’s a quicker, more stable attachment method (both, not just quick or stable).

Also, tech talk for tech talk’s sake.

Couldn’t you girth hitch a continuous loop of amsteel like 3/16” or so to each end of you favorite buckle strap & maybe hold in place ( so they don’t fall off) with a rubber band??

id agree with you a bit, back when rope mods really started coming about, i tried them with my lone wolfs and went right back to my cam buckle straps. The weight is hardly noticeable and they always seemed to set better on the tree vs the ropes...

Not sure if the buckle would clear but it might if you crossed over the strap loops. Attach on the near tab and drop the strap under the far side attachment tab, around the tree, under the near side tab, attach on far side and cinch.

Yeah, this is what I was thinking except change the last part to “around the tree, over the near side tab, attach on far side tab and cinch”….. Using a strap like the old LW strap with a loop on each end you’d be fine.

The normal cheap side of me says they're light enough and pack well, keep what ya got. The other side is saying those sticks are cool. I'm happy with my TL EDP platform and it's only like 3.8# so I would not likely bust out $300 for the platform, but I could see myself selling my double minis and getting those hyperlight sticks.

Plus I like the fact the original TL platforms have the "batwing" and bite SO well. Everyone that comes out with a newer platform and can't use the batwing is like when I had the Cruzr Seeker - great platform but I could never get that style bracket to bite in my local trees.

I bought a virtually new EDP platform last fall and love how rock solid it is on a tree. The weight with a Vital Ground PSH amsteel attachment is not enough different to tempt me to look seriously at the new Hyperlite, but I am certainly waiting to hear some first hand reports of the "early adopters". A friend used a set of Latitude carbon sticks all fall and I ended up with a set that worked well for me also. Most have probably heard some muted rumblings about a few failures, but I reached out to Latitude and they responded that it was an issue with improper tie-off. Nonetheless, I found a good deal on a new set of four Beast Gear sticks in December and have them Stealth Stripped with new amsteel daisy chains I crafted early in January. I think it is great the saddle market is expanding and evolving each year, but because something is new and looks good in a marketing promo doesn't mean it is going to pan out. Time will tell......

The onyx bites really aggressive with two teeth. The picture that was posted reminds me of that.
 
My local shop just picked up Xpedition so I was able to look at the risers and it got me fired up about this release, they are under the same corporate umbrella as TL and I've been told that the machining is done by same entity. To me this is the biggest advancement since I started saddle hunting. My son or daughter is going to get a really nice sub 10 lb platform and stick set up handed down to them for next season.

Been eying these and the tree Styx. These I wish they had a little taller standoffs. The Tree Styx I am a little skittish about a carbon stick.

How about climb a damn tree with them?? Why even do a vid outside?...What a waste of effort.
