Trotlines

Mine sharing what you got on stock materials. I know what’s need but I’m just curious what you went with.

Just set my first trotline. It was a narrow creek with a hole. 6 live blue gill across it

This weekend is a no go here. All the lakes and rivers are out of their banks and orange with mud.

Just for the record, I had nothing to do with that concoction called a fish fry he posted. I have a reputation to uphold. What in the heck is that? Mayo battered fish? Butter battered?
Salt and pepper and some sour cream. Turned out amazing. I’d put it up against any fried catfish I’ve ever had!

I got skunked. And about had my canoe turned into an airplane. Storm rolled through with 20mph gusts.
Had a similar thing happen on Friday. I saw that storm coming and told my wife we better get out of hear its going hit quick (reminded me of the pop up thunderstorms on the gulfcoast). She said she didn't think a storm was coming so I said fine with it and we kept on fishing. 15 mins and that think was right on top of us blowing hard. Luckily it was blowing in the direction we came in. Her garmin watch tagged us at 12 mph coming in. It wouldn't taken much to flip us. I think she will listen next time I tell her lets pack it up and get in before a storm hits.

Got everything ready....I'll catch some bait before I leave work Friday and be fishing Friday evening.....I like learning new stuff..... Thanks to all who giving ideas on this thread. 20200527_234059.jpg

Good luck!
I just drilled some holes in the bottom of my bucket and a few around the sides for ventilation. It gets rank over time. Also bought a snap on lid from Walmart. The snap on lid that came with the bucket, that has like 8 sections, is a pain to take on and off.

After a couple sets I will come up with something better than a plain old bucket....just not sure what I need till I get a little experience running the line

I'm the king of building things prematurely before I actually know what I need or like..... y'all should see the pile of platforms, climbing sticks, and various other saddle hunting gear I thought would be good but ended up bringing the suck.

Buckets work great!
