Truck build

Vacuum leaks haven't been addressed yet. I was at the dang parts store today and forgot at ask if they had vacuum line by the foot. Maybe I'll remember and look online again tonight. I've tried to buy it a couple times but when the shipping ends up 2x the price of what I'm buying i back out.

I got some new side view mirrors and the little convex dudes and that is sweet. It has had less than par side mirrors since I got it. I epoxied the bracket on the windshield and rehung the rear view mirror. Replacing old bulbs. I replaced the ignition coil module thing and replaced the windshield wiper motor and wiper blades....slowly woodpeckering on it. The whiney PS pump bothers me but will make do for now. If the tires were in better shape I'd be ready to go hunting but they are real bad. I think I should call around and see if I can find some used stock sized tires for maybe 200 bucks. I would be scrapping them almost instantly and it is a waist of money but at least I could go hunting. I got vacation time coming end of the week until after the New Year and I'm jonesing to get into the woods.

No issues since I started driving again. I wish the defrosted worked a little better. The brake pedal pad did crack in 2 but I hockey taped it back together.

I think I gonna buy a cheapo light bar. The headlights are sufficient to highway driving especially since the alternator upgrade but driving the wma roads I would like a little something extra

Damn TG, I know you’re proud of the gesture and do right by the man when the time comes. Badass truck.

Well to be honest they aren't the stock size but they fit. When I called this morning to ask if they had a set of 4 available I was told that my stock tire size doesn't exist. So I drove up there and showed them the door sticker that says 215/85/16. "Huh....I guess that is a real tie size....."

U could have got a 215/85/16 or a 235/85/16 when u bought the truck new. The used set I just got are 225/75/16....hahahaha close enough I guess.

So now I could go hunting if I had the time and commuting between my place and my buddy where the work will be being done isn't so stressful/worry some. She's gets a little shaky 70mph or more but rides great at 65-68.

The steering and getting the truss cut off of the axle are really the only 2 things I'm worried about with the upcoming 4x4/solid axle swap. I'm a little worried about adding too much heat to the axle while cutting off the truss and possibly warping something. There is a ton of weld to cut and grind down. It probably non issue since I know what to look out for. The steering mechanical components don't bother me but getting adaptors or having hydro lines made can potentially be a pain in the butt I'm not looking forward to. I tend to overthink things and make them more complicated than need be sometimes.... Hopefully I'm just overthinking it and there are some easy solutions.

Jealous, would love a solid front axle. Btw got new tires this weekend, have been driving it around since Saturday afternoon. Transmission has a little shudder from 3-4th gear & the lifters chatter a bit. But she fires right up & rides pretty nice.

Looks like the brakes will be really straight forward. Unbolt factory and bolt in the aftermarket brake lines I already got.

The steering gonna take a minute. The steering box/pitman arm is what kinda locates the front axle. I have a bunch of parts from the old hydraulic steering I took off and I have a bunch of random steering components from old 4x4 projects that I think I can cut apart and make new, to make a decent high clearance cross over steering system utilizing hiem joints instead of tie rod ends. Makes for little "harsher" road feel not having any cushion between the the steering arms but it not bad. We'll see how it goes....the steering take a minute to figure out
