I’m sure people are using them! I saw one of the hunting public guys wearing one in one of the 2019 episodes, I can’t remember which episode though. Looking to try it out and wanted to see if anyone has any recommendations...thanks!

I've wanted to get one for deer hunting in general. Especially for bow hunting, my binos and rangefinder are a nuisance they way I have them. The open side pockets would be perfect.

I use one and would use anything else. Just about any vest you buy will need to be a bit of reinforcement. Alps vests are pretty tough, but heavy. Lots of good posts with pics and suggestions in search.

I'm using one. Picked up a Russell Outdoors SE3 off of ebay recently. They are discontinued but well made.

Depends on what you plan on toting in it.

can't remember if he says what vest, but i think its a cabelas tactical tater

i used an ol tom earlier, but could tell i'd need something a little more heavy duty.

Never used them, but the Tenzing makes a couple of good ones as does ALPS.

I'd check Old Gobbler forum and Gobbler Nation for any used ones. Ebay can turn up some winners, but you have to watch each day.

I tried the turkey vest because I liked the idea of all the pockets towards my front. I had a Primos bow vest that I liked because of those pockets. The thing I didn't like about the turkey vest was the lack of a waist belt for carrying weight. I pack my deer out in my pack, and a waist belt makes it much easier. So, I went back to my Alps Pathfinder. I'm never dragging a deer out again.

Roger that. There are many variables that determine my loadout. Distance from the truck and terrain is definitely one of them for this very reason..

So the thing is I still want to carry my backpack I just want to downsize on backpack and try to keep more of the stuff i access most on my person, does that make sense? I guess what im looking for is a lightweight turkey vest to cary stuff that isn’t sticks or rope

Gotcha. That's what I liked about the Primos bow vest. It looks like they still make them. Or, the Sitka Ascent Vest: https://www.sitkagear.com/products/...7mUBvsQ3vkrlTPDlJN-X5NDqPWUJiYEwaAvstEALw_wcB

Have you looked at bow hunting vests or tactical vests?

Pack rabbit?
Slumberjack has a pursuit vest. https://slumberjack.com/pursuit-vest-realtree-max1/
