Hey guys I’ll be honest their stuff has always interested me. Their Minimalist saddle looks sweet. My question is I see them go up for sale a stinking lot. But the same people who sell them say their great. All their saddles I mean, not just the minimalist. Anyone care to explain this to me? I’ve never heard a bad thing about them but again I see them up for sale a lot.

Also if anyone has any Information or thoughts on their Minimalist saddle please let me know.

I’ve owned a few , still have my original custom & a lonestar. The only minimalist saddle I’ve liked was a kite………. Lonestar is one of the most comfortable saddles I’ve used. I don’t have enough hunts in it to give an honest review. Probably 5-6 last year. I run my kite with a drey attached for long sits & for 4-6 hour sits I used the lonestar. Happy to let you try one or both of you want. Matt is a good dude & will make a solid piece for you!

Who makes the Kite? Thanks for the info and the offer! I might have to take you up on that sometime.

I tried to get a foot in the door early on the "Minimalist". Lucky for me I never got a response, and I'm thankful. Maybe it would be ok, but from what I've seen on review, it doesn't look or sound as comfortable as I'd want.

I sat in a Lonestar XPD. It was a size smaller than I would prefer, but it was real nice. Seemed to be built for a little junk in the trunk, you know, rounded. When expanded, it is more for sitting. Not much of an in between. I liked it, but I don't think it was as versatile for me as my aerohunter flex.

I was thinking the minmalist would be nice for walks in, and then as a shorter sit hunt

Bought a lonestar w/ XPD last season, made at a least a dozen sits with it. Love it. Doubt I'll ever get rid of it. Matt hand delivered it to me on his way to hunt my home state during the rut. I one stick, more of a leaner. Never cared for leg straps until the lonestar. For me it doesn't sag at all on the walk in. Modified mine to an openable bridge. Not sure how to explain it, but it's just comfortable for me.

Maybe. I could be making a poor assessment. Check out the videos on Youtube and see what you think.

It just seems to me the harness is going to be more restrictive and less comfortable than other options, with the rock climbing and belay loop design. Then there is the movement to pull the saddle down to employ it. I think it's kind of a hassle; I've sat on my .5 seat with my saddle on and it wasn't any trouble. Finally, I've looked at how it rides on wearers in the videos, and it seems there are better options.

Like the Drey, I guess it's nice to walk in, like a belt. It's just as easy for me to pack my saddle, not get it sweaty at all, and have something comfortable when in use as intended. My "minimalist" saddle is a mesh Wood Hunting Saddle. It'll ball up and fit in a dump pouch, it's comfortable to me, and I don't have to employ a seat.

In Tx5 I, personally, would spring for a Lonestar. Probably, stretch.

To you original point, I think many sales of Tx5 saddles were to upgrade to a Lonestar or settle on Stretch or XPD or mesh or Cordura.

I had the one before the Lonestar. The stretchy one.
I hunted out of it most of last year and I loved it!

You will catch on that a lot of us on here buy & sell saddles pretty often so don't think because you've seen them for sale it because guys don't like them...

This is the understatement of the decade. I have seen people buy and sell the exact same thing multiples times. I forgot who, but some one in here has 5 Flex saddles. The term grass is always greener is hardcore here.

Try them all….
There’s good saddles to be had from multiple companies. Good thing is when you’re ready to move on someone on here is ready to buy
