Ultimate One stick

My understanding is that it is like combining the artisan platform which goes toward the tree and an angled scout. So no more stand off than a standard scout just more toward the tree.

Yes, since standoffs are the same, the distance between the tree and the stick tube doesn’t change, I guess the question I should have asked is “how much different is it to climb with since the flat part you stand on when you climb is much closer to the tree.”

I got my rope and mad rock safeguard today. Now I got figure out if when I order my stick do I need a 2 step aider or 3 step and weather I want a 12 inch stick or 15 inch stick.

@barlow96, I ordered a three step 15” which keeps my step spacing the same. May not be able to use the third step except on first move, but that’s ok, at least I have the option. I know the 15” will be fine for early season. If necessary, I will order another double step with a 3 step 12” for late season when the clothes get heavy and just swap out the bottom step as necessary. Although I have no experience, I think it is a good happy-medium approach.

I am been thinking the same. I am 5ft5. But have used over 20 inch aiders in past but it was a single aider with double step and I caught the step with my knee. I know that want be a option for this.

I've got the three step 15" but also ordered three step 12". I'm 5'10" and with heavy clothes it's almost impossible for me to make the 15" step.

My sh1kar amsteel rope gets here tomorrow as well. So lots of stuff to practice and test now.

I’ve never used a multi step aider and had a question regarding spacing. I’m short at about 5’8”. Pretty athletic. For those of you with experience, is 18” ok or should I maybe go 15”? And another question, does DanO offer the Monarch with his Ultimate Onestick now?

Im 5’7” and went with 18” step spacing on a two step aider. I think it’s perfect.

I ordered mine on January 11 and it’s supposed to be here tomorrow. Can’t wait!!! Probably leave work early as soon as it’s delivered.

Well I pulled the trigger and order my stick this mourning. No let’s forget about it untill it comes in.

Orderd mine yesterday morning. My plans is the same, I'm going to develop amnesia. More of a survival skill so my better half doesn't smother me in my sleep for buying yet another way up a tree....
I can't wait to try it out, nice knowing where the money is going too.

Good luck with that. It's not easy! LOL

I just got mine last week.Mine isn't actually a one stick because I didn't order a scout with it.I got to play around with it over the weekend and it was worth the money. The schaefer cam cleat is the only way to go for one sticking.

I have to agree. I’m 6’4” and I sewed my own aider on. I originally did 16” and with heavy clothes it was a stretch and not terribly easy. I’m also close to 50 years old. A younger more flexible person may not have an issue with it. After that I made one with four steps at 11”. That was too short. It works but I wasn’t thrilled. I then made it four steps of 13” and that works great. Most times my first step on the aider is not even a step up but because I’m hanging to the side of it it brings me around the tree and inline with my stick. This coming season I’m going to add a gear tie on top to pull the stick up. I think this is going to have me hanging too high to use the fourth aider step while climbing so I’ll likely change my aider to three steps of 14”.
