Universal Pack Platform Carrier

In my mind the pocket would be for rain gear storage...fold rain stuff to dimensions of the add on u made and then it sit flat not taking up hardly any room...it's rain stuff so can get a little bloody ..rain gear storage that doesn't take up all useable pack space
I think it would take me approximately one hunt to lose a piece of my raingear if it wasn't clipped or zipped in somehow.

I imagine it like laptop storage in a regular school backpack....mesh with eleatic or zipper top. Rain gear sucks to pack. I just take a poncho now but I could fold that poncho just right to were would be just smaller than the main structure that he made and slide it in to a pouch (pouch might not be the right word) like I slid the laptop into the kids backpack.

@always89y I think it's a great idea. I can think of lots of ways I could use it....and not just on a backpack as intended. Good work

Assuming the panel is made of two layers (it looks like it might be), one could simply place a small (#5? or just overbuild it) zipper along the top seam of the panel to fit that poncho storage need. If you build it out of DWR Cordura, your raingear will already have some protection from blood.

You should call it the Octopus carrier with the 8 tentacles coming off!
I like it! How about "Octopak"!

It is 2 layers, one being Codura 500D with the rubberized coating. 2 keep the rigidity of the molle, I would have to add a layer to the "back" to create a internal pocket. I do like the idea of a pocket though. Im going to make a larger version today. probably 14"x17".

G hooks or repair buckles and looks good to go. Nice work!
Ya, im going to do G-hooks for the 1" center webbing and cam locks for the 3/8 webbing, unless there are better ideas. Trying to keep the 3/8th webbing as its a bit more flexible and bendy, to keep it universal. Im having a hard time finding 3/8" hardware that will hold up. Im thinking maybe even curved 3/8 x 1" metal figure 8, if I can find them. Kinda like this:

These straps are not webbing as you probably intended to use; however, my thought is you could use a few of these guys to give it some versatility...maybe use your webbing as you intended and just make connection points for these in the event you want to pack something large out. Or upgrade to a larger platform/stick combo in the future. We use these on our side by sides and four wheelers to strap stuff down all the time.
