Western/south western Pennsylvania Saddlepalooza, anyone?

im interested depending on date. if i have one by then . been waiting over 9 weeks now. sory just had to vent

I'm interested I'm in central Pa. Figure some dates and get as many as we can.

Camping, campfires, abilty to shoot bows from saddles, and barley pops...
All good things!!
Ok, so I'm wondering how many would be coming from out of state and do not hunt Pennsylvania? Or would we all be able to have our hunting licenses by say late june or july?

Licenses? Are you suggesting a groundhog hunt?

Nope, im thinking utilize the game lands that we paid for! Camping and drinking will be a no go, nothing a short drive can't fix. However, if in fact we all are pa hunters and would be willing to purchase our licenses prior to going, what we have in mind is perfectly legal. I will be emailing the pgc to have black and white limitations but i think for the initial get together we can utilize the game lands and get realistic situations in the woods that we would hunt utilizing differe t saddle setups!

Good idea!

I’d potentially be interested from southern WV... not buying a license just to shoot my bow though, that’s a crazy rule

So you have to have a PA license to target shoot? Or just in certain properties?

No, you dont have to have one to target shoot in general. To target shoot on gamelands, however, you need to have one. Its a good thing really.
My idea was to utilize SGL 189. Its small, easy to access, and very easy to get to. However, there is an area that i know of off rt22 near burgettstown that is public, county owned and wouldnt require anyone to buy a license. Still no beer and no camping, but we'd be able to climb around shoot the bows and cook some food! It could be the spot to go, ill drive out there tomorrow or friday and check it out... If anyone has any suggestions, throw them up!

I’m in. Would love to get see some saddles and try them out. Still haven’t pulled the trigger.

Where is 189 located?

This is gonna be a bit too far for me, if it is a day thing. I am sure it will be great!

Ok, there is a long list of things to accomplish to make this happen. So lets get the first item knocked out. Lets pick a date:
Saturday 29 June 2019,
Sunday 30 June 2019,
Saturday 13 July 2019,
Sunday 14 July 2019.
Well keep this at a single day for now, I think we would be able to accomplish everything in one day.

July is a bad month for me, but I doubt you can ever get all the stars and planets to align so that any date(s) work for everyone.

June 29th would be my vote. I’d also vote to go some place that doesn’t require a license to shoot my bow. Going elk hunting this year and trying to save some dough where I can. Thanks for putting this together.
