What are Pros and cons Mission Platform

Nice. So do you have double shoulder straps? Meaning the Badlands for the fanny, and the LWCG for the platform?

I was imagining that some of the platform weight could ride ok n the fanny, so it's cool to hear that confirmed.

I'm trying to figure out a way to use the fanny's shoulder straps to attach the platform, but maybe double straps is no big deal.

But now you have me thinking?

Figure a way to get those fanny straps to attach to the platform as well and eliminate the need for the LWCG straps altogether. That might be even better yet?

In searching fanny packs, I notice that the Alps Outdoorz Big Bear have buckles on the top/ back for attaching a full pack. I wondered if you could put a male end stitched to webbing on the Mission and then buckle it in to those female ends? Maybe weave the lower ends of the straps that connect the fanny to the shoulders also for support.

I don't see these same clips on Badlands or other brand bags. I know Badlands is nice stuff though.

I don’t see why that one wouldn’t work just as good as the badlands if the buckle idea didn’t work though?

Just use the LWCG straps or whatever straps for the platform if you can’t get em to work out.

The Badlands doesn’t have anything like that for sure.

Man. This is too easy. Get the X2 and put it in the horizontal straps. Holds the weight close to you and isn’t bothersome at all. I actually put 5 WE steps in a kydex holster on the Molle, on the flap of the meat shelf or the x2 as well. I am 0% brothered by the weight being that far out from my back.

Yeah too bad it's a $250 pack. Buy once cry once I suppose.

Kind of forgot about this sling from Strapworks. Can sling sticks over my shoulder and carry the Mission on my back as a possibility. Could possibly also run those straps through the Mission. May be kind of awkward to carry all that on one side though for a long distance.

My diy uses an xop seat. Its perfect size if any manufacturers are reading this.

Agreed. I have an XOP seat DIY and size 14 feet and there’s all kinds of room on that thing. But.....I’m a big fan of having my platform on my stick. Single stick with a platform on it eliminates the need to haul up the platform, I’ve just yet to make a stick with the XOP on it.

Currently I have a stick with a scooter platform and a stick with a LW seat.

If you don't want a pack, anyone try something like the XOP TTS? just leave it attached to the platform at height.

I have the Mission and the Predator platform. So as far as cons go maybe the weight for some guys but it doesn't bother me. The pros it's rock solid it sets up easy and it's very roomy. I would not hesitate to buy one. It's my favorite over the Predator and my Ameristeps ring of steps.

The only thing I have found about those is the fact now you have things hanging below your stand blowing in the wind. I used to run a set of those on a climbing stand I had. I kept getting picked off and couldn't figure it out. I was rifle hunting, so if I could see them they were in range, BUT I addressed my set up and the only thing I could figure was the extra movement of the straps in the wind. After I fixed it, I stopped getting picked off in that set up.
