What are you doing during this winter blast?

40s and sleeting right now, calling for 20s/teens the next few days but nothing too crazy, we are fully in Christmas mode, this weekend will be devoted to all things kids so if I don't leave the house for a few days no big deal

The Grinch…aka my wife unit decided she’d use up all her remaining vacation time before leaving her current job and starting her new job at the first of the year. All the honey-do’s I’ve put off over the last few months of hunting season now have to completed before I can finish out the season.

“What do you mean I can’t go hunting?” ***Retrieves tape measure and proceeds to get the wife’s measurements.
“What do you think you’re doing?”
“I need to know how big to make the hole. Do you remember where I put the shovel?”
“Better be a snow shovel because you’re cleaning that driveway before I go shopping!”
“…Yes Dear.”

I think I'm going to wait till Monday to go out. Looks like the weather should be better by then. Every year I do 1 or 2 hunts during high winds and single digit wind chills and I always tell myself the same thing. " That was stupid and dangerous " I told myself that I wasn't going to that this year and I plan on sticking to that.

I got up a little late this morning and was peeved at the weatherman because, while it was snowing, it was still definitely huntable weather. I've since had to take it back. The wind is howling, snow is blowing and I can barely see the house across the street at times. I'm just gonna sit home and relax the next couple of days.

-7 here with 35mph winds. I decided ducks were not that important today. So, I’m doing my best to support the coffee industry and I’m posting YouTube videos. We live in a community with older houses so we’ve been checking on neighbors and some of our older folks too.

It’s 50 and pouring here in massachusetts with some good winds. I’m about to go across town to the trailer park with a pink flamingo and a Hawaiian shirt just like the Toby Keith song

If I was to do any hunting in this weather (which I'm not) it would be ducks. Worse the weather is, the easier they drop right into the spread in my experience.

Marriage is like a deck of cards. It all starts with a couple hearts and a diamond, but by the end, you wish you had a club and a spade..

Was 40 and raining last night. Now single digits, 35 mph wind gusts, and wind chill of -20.

How do the deer survive this? You know, the ones that got soaked last night and now have to deal with "Feels like -20" ???
Wondered the same thing in a similar situation last year… especially getting wet early on, feel bad for em.

You’re 100% correct. And with everything frozen I’ve got a nice creek spot that will still be open. I’m just not feeling it today. Of course if I have to play one more board game my attitude may change.

FAX! Nothing like popping those quackers with a good wind and steady rain or sleet. Makes‘em want it Baaaad!

It says it is 12 degrees here now. It was about 8 with wind chills in the negative teens. I've been out and about some. The wind is the main thing. It's downright chilly in the wind. I am not really dressing for it though, just walking around. Just a couple of layers and a wind proof jacket. Probably won't get a chance to get out and hunt before Monday. Sunday may be possible. This is just not normal for Mississippi in December.
