That first one is the one you really earn. After that it gets easier each time. There weren't may deer in central Illinois when I started bow hunting in 1965 and I hunted eleven years before I took my first doe. It was 126 lbs. field dressed and I can still remember that shot today. I've taken well over 100 deer since and that one stands out as my best hunt. You will get there if you pay attention to your mistakes and learn from them. That is the most important lesson to development of your deer hunting skills. You will hear a lot of tales from the experts but what you learn yourself is what develops you, Good Hunting, Buddy!My first deer. I hope.
