2003 Mathews LX. Bought it on my birthday in 03 and have killed a bunch of deer. I love it. I’ll try new saddles and climbing methods all the time, but I’ve only had 3 bows in my 30 years of bow hunting.

Lots of good set ups on here. Seems like we have a lot of Matthews guys here. I've never owned a Matthews or even shot one. I'm interested to though. I've always had the outlook that for a hunting bow, that I'm not going to shoot over 35-40 yards, a bow like that isn't necessary. I've always owned mainly PSEs and a few Bears. I have always liked PSE but there has to be a reason why so many here shoot Matthews.
Just shoot 6 or 7 w/an open mind & you’ll be surprised what you buy..... I desperately wanted to love a new Matthews last year but I just couldn’t get into that draw cycle. I ended up w/ a prime ( I jumped the gun & should’ve waited a year , it was a 1/2” too short & now they came out w/longer limbs) that bow was a shooter ( I couldn’t group it out if the tree, I was cheating form on flat ground) it’s all good there’s a guy on here that got a great deal!!! These new bows are amazing, almost like saddles shoot what fits ya!!!!

Bowtech Prodigy. 62 lbs, comfort setting. Would love a realm sr6 if the budget allowed, but the prodigy shoots great and I've got no complaints.

I need to call the factory and see if they will send me a set of spectra cams for my 3800. Seeing as the Daquistos did exactly that for the lobo. That bow has to be lights out! Good looking setups you have there.

Both the Chill R and the Spectra E tuned up super quick bare shaft then group tuning with broadheads. I just wish I had a longer draw length but what can you do. God made me with a 27" DL. I think with the LO that bows are coming with now I could likely up my DW to 70lbs but I'm not sure it is worth it. I like my medium everything set ups. Plus I rarely shoot anything beyond 20 yards.

Mathews Tactic 70lbs @29”. Black gold ascent and a hamskae versa rest, gold tip velocities pushing 200 grains up front and AAE max stealth wrap and lighted nocks....

I really think the Tactic is a great bow. Haven't shot it myself but for the price point, the design characteristics are super similar to the Chill series. I shoot a Chill R and it is a great bow. Lightweight too!!! I wish Matthews would go back to more bows with that riser design. I think for a guy looking for an upgrade but wants a heck of a bow for saddle hunting at a decent price point, the new Tactic is hard to beat!!! I think they are at $849.

I am a saddle hunter. The length and draw cycle are perfect for that application. Remember when a flagship bow was $849?!?
