What bow is everyone shooting this year?

I just saw Obsession was bought by Martin Archery and they moved Martin to the Obsession facility.

I've honestly never heard of Martin Archery, but after a quick look, their bows looked pretty nice. I think aesthetically the Hoyt carbon RX series is my favorite, but I know a loooooot of people are Mathews fans. My first bow was a Parker, now I have this HB33.

If MA bought Obsession, they must be doing something right...especially if they moved Martin to the Obsession facility and not the other way around lol!!

Prime Centergy Hybrid but really thinking about upgrading to the Prime Nexus 4

There's several companies that were huge that don't get as much press now (Martin, Pearson, and Darton come to mind immediately). Martin is most famous for their stick bows.

EDIT: I should've mentioned the king of that class: High Country Archery was probably close to top bow company in the US and now hardly a peep. Golden Eagle was huge. Clearwater Archery was never huge but had a presence.

Xpedition Xcentric I think this will be season 6. I try new ones every year and still haven't found one that makes me want to change.

@raisins How were they so big but didn't get any publicity?

They had plenty of publicity back in the day, but kind of faded. High Country had full page ads in every magazine and would win bow of the year, etc. Sorry if I was not clear about that.

I’ll be shooting the Prime Nexus 2.
Pairing it with some “love em or hate em” FMJs. Still undecided on broadheads, but liking the looks of the Tooth of the Arrow points.

Back for its 5th season I’ll be shooting my 2016 PSE Decree Ti. Lightning fast and accurate. Took me a good year to get used to a “speed” bow but I’ve come to love it. Nothing fancy for arrows - 340 Gold Tip Hunter XT with a 100 grain Rage. Luckily I have had 100% pass through on every deer and none went over 80 yards. I’m confident and comfortable with that set up and no reason to change a thing at this time

Shooting the hoyt ventum 30 this year gotta bring it back to the shop it's got some serious cam lean going on

Don't ignore it. I had a Reflex single cam (made by Hoyt) derail due to cam lean. It was leaning so hard that I drew it back with a thin glove once and gave it a bit too much torque and the string came off the cam. It was a very violent episode and if I recall felt like a gorilla tried to rip my arm out of the socket. This was around 20 years ago though.

How does it shoot? All the videos I've seen of it make it look smooth as butter. The V3 or whatever from Mathews looks great but there's some drag near the end of the draw cycle on it that I didn't like.

It's super smooth nothing like previous hoyts and it's also really quite

Same bow as last year for me. It was new for me last season but due to work commitments, I only got out with it 3x. I have yet to shoot an animal with this one.

The Defiant has a smooth draw and solid back wall, 80% let off is night and day difference from the Hoyt Alph Burner that I was shooting w/ 65 % let off. Bow is also very light. I purchased it used for $450, new they were $1500.

Bow is pretty well setup now. Just waiting on my new sight.
