What did you do today that’s related to saddle hunting?

Today I spent way too much money on stuff to one-stick and SRT:

100' of Sterling Canyon Tech 9.5mm
Throw Ball Kit
Black Diamond ATC Pilot
Kong Futura Hand Ascender
25' of 7mm accessory cord
6mm Eye to Eye Sling
Gear ties
Eastern Woods Outdoor Cam Cleat

I was stressing about what rope till I came across that Canyon Tech on Optics Planet. The price was too good to pass up. My hopes are that it will be a good dual purpose rope.

Hopefully your optics planet order ships quickly. Not to scare you, but they are notorious for having stuff listed as “in stock” and not having it ship for weeks or months.

The end of 10 miles worth of scouting in 102 actual temps and 116 wind chill.

Worst I ever encountered was Botach. Never doing business with them again. Over 6 months for a dozen ITW Fastmags that showed "in stock".

I sure hope not. Maybe that's why it was almost half price, lol. I have ordered several things from there, and they came in with no issues.

The hurricane cracked a pine branch about 50 foot up but it fell and got wedged. That was a good excuse for a preseason practice climb. Much easier pulling up ur bow vs a chainsaw....hahaha

After the branch let go and I was getting ready to rappel down the neighbor on the other side of the fence asks if everything ok......I pokes my head around the trunk, told him I was batman, and rappelled down.....hahahahaha
That was the first words I've ever spoken to them

Maybe the last…

After a tornado cruised through my area I had to go out and cut my access to a parcel open. My pole saw was well worth every penny I spent on it!

Shot groups comparing Broadheads and field points from 25 and 40 yards. Adjusted a couple of my cell cams. My finger touches the broadhead tipped arrow.

Walked the farm this morning. Set a tree stand I had in the garage for my son to sit in. Checked some preset lines I had and tossed a few more.
Dropped a camera on a funnel along the creek that had a lot of tracks in it. Found a grunt tube I dropped 2 years ago I think.
Also found what I think was a buck bed along the creek that faces the entrance to the field. Pretty sure someone sits there, and if they see someone coming to the field they can lay low, or drop off the back to the creek.

Family milkweed pod collection contest. Whoever collects the most earns my respect. Pretty hot out but they did well for an hour of effort. Earned that ice cream. View attachment 90016
I,ve always waited to harvest mine until they popped open. Seems like they are fluffier if they dry on their own. Looks like you have enough for this season alright...

Shot my new crossbow. KI Boss 405. Got the scope mostly zeroed with bullet points at 20. Now I need to pick a fixed-blade to put up front and tweak the zero. Thinking Maasai or SteelForce but need to check ferrule diameter.

Shot my bow, with new verifier. 20-30yrds im driving tacks, but 40 yrds out im all over the place. Must be the scar tissue on my eyeball. Theres a fine line of my pins being in right spot and then the pin will jump up n to the right. Really have bear down n practice, 25 days to go til opener. Might just be at the point in my life where Im now a 30 yrds or less type guy. :pensive:
But on the brighter side of things, its the clearest my pins have been in 2 yrs.

Went out and took (and passed, of course) the proficiency test for the urban deer management program and got the application for it completed. I’m hoping I put in for zones not too many others did and I get a lot of days, it’s a unique experience but I enjoyed it last year.
Also got some new gear I got in the classifieds in the mail today so I know the deer will think I’m cool now.
