What did you do today that’s related to saddle hunting?

Don't worry, I'll fix them up AND stealth strip them this summer!

my artists Skills are terrible, I didn’t want to do the saddle world that injustice
Nah, it looks good to me. I mean, if you’re making a really awkward left hand shot with your tether up across your shoulder and sitting in the saddle to help brace your feet… I’m sure that’s what you’re going for.

Edit: Oh wait, the bow is hanging from the tree. Uh, using a rangefinder to the left??

Did my daily 2TC climb out back. Got to hunting height and I was on my ring of steps set to hunt in 8 minutes. I'm slowly getting the hang of this, and I like it.

Installed 2 trees in my basement. 1 is an oak and will be permanent for testing gear while its snowing/raining outside. The other is a barkless pine that can be put up and taken down with just two bolts. The pine is for "shooting from my saddle", practicing transitions and walking around the tree stealthily. Can we take a moment to discuss that rifle with the thumbhole stock? I’m a sucker for thumbhole/paratrooper stocks.

Yep, my very first air rifle. A NP2 Phoenix .22 it's the only "gun" my wife will let me keep out in the open and not locked up!

Shipped my Recon off Monday to exchange my medium size for a small. I’m around a 34 waist and fall between the two sizes. I ordered the medium before consulting with Mark. The biggest issue is that in order to cinch the waist belt I was basically bottoming it out. So there was a lot of excess strap. It’s 70 degrees and sunny so I’ll probably shoot my bow a bit.

I ordered a few non locking carabiners to use for a Garda hitch and a few other apps. I practiced tying knots, shot the bow and drank a few beers…..replaced a few fletchings too.
Is it Turkey season yet?

Picked up a Bullpac frame from @Ckwilli, (thanks man!!) ordered their IMG_8426.jpgALICE conversion blade for it and they both came in Wednesday. I stripped everything off the pack, installed the blade adapter for my ALICE pack and re painted the whole frame and I have a much more robust meat hauling and whatever else hauling rig now!!

Got a refund from the seller on those biners I ordered …..right after they were indicated as being shipped! Apparently they were out of stock

The small arrived yesterday. Quick turnaround. It definitely seems like a better fit for me.

That was fast. I got the small and I have a 30-inch waist, and I have been very happy with my Recon.

It’s really well made for the money. I’ve seen way worse stitching on more expensive saddles. But the medium was awkward to put on because it was so big on me. Guess I don’t have enough junk in my trunk.

I remember watching a review of two panel saddles on youtube before I bought mine and I believe the reviewer said that the stitching was about the best he had seen on any saddle. I think they have a company that makes parachutes sew them. I've used mine for a season and it looks like new.

In my opinion the Recon is a great saddle.
