What did you do today that’s related to saddle hunting?

Kinda related to our sport....I quit Copenhagen and beer and started back at the gym. Not quite a week in, I haven't shot many arrows. Body is sore as I'm pushing pretty hard. Increased my protein intake, actually food in general. I'm up 5# already.
I say I "quit" drinking but did have a couple yesterday as a reward.
This has been my saddle related thing too. Realized I needed to get my azz in shape for Ohio hills for my first out of state hunt so I've been running stairs, doing squats, HIIT, whatever I can think of to prepare every night for the last 18 days. Plan to continue that through November.

I started looking at my diet as well. I'm not tracking my macros per se, but have started paying attention to my ratio of carbs/protein/fats. I've either worked out everyday since and/or surfed cause the waves have been decent. I feel amazing.

Hopefully your optics planet order ships quickly. Not to scare you, but they are notorious for having stuff listed as “in stock” and not having it ship for weeks or months.

Easter Woods Outdoors is the hold out. I got the rope from Optics planet right away. It has been 15 days and my EWO order still hasn't shipped.

Shot out of my truck bed and put my daughter behind the new crossbow to review shooting safety. Her finger’s about 1/2” too short to pull the trigger yet. Hope she gains that length before season ends lol.

My daughter was the same way. I taught her to shoot without her thumb behind the grip. Just finger on trigger amd pull.

Last night I slung about 20 arrows and after dinner I went through trail cam photos from one location. By taking notes of all the weather conditions I was able to find patterns in a particular deers use of a bedding area.

You hope.....

Now you have to see if you're correct.

The pattern has been consistent enough to increase my odds, that’s a good start. The big question is: how much longer will that pattern remain in tact. So many things are going to be changing over the next 30 days, which is how much I have to wait for the season opener.

Shot my bow. Still recovering from my thumb injury so I had to cut it way short. Need to work on form before I'm happy. Other frustration was that my string has somehow gotten twisted and now my peep is all over the place. Looks like I'm headed back to the bow shop. And I just dropped of my crossbow to get re-served, so I'm not hunting any time soon

it’s been a productive Saturday. I prepped a deer hide for the hand muff I’ve been designing. IMG_5438.jpeg

I went scouting - came up on a bear that I considered harvesting, but when I realized she had cubs decided against shooting. Shortly after that I found a really nice antler shed.

Doing some bush hogging today. I've got the pack rabbit frame from @kyler1945 stuffed with my drill, bolts, cameras, line man's belt, etc. I was able to find a bag and shoulder straps for failrly cheap. Holds heavy stuff well. Going to move through the edge and let the tractor run while I prep and switch cams.
