What did you do today?

I set my blind out 15 days ago.
So I got a bird coming, can't see him but he is closing in.
There is a little mound with a couple scrub pines 50 yards across from me.
He comes out from behind the pine, stops, gets erect and does a double take when he sees my Jake and turns around and high tails it out there.
***?
Maybe the color? I gave my son my other decoys and grabbed these cheap ones because the others were collapsed in the box and looked like it would take time, days and some heat to get their shape back.

Nice. And what's your take on it?
Easy to set like the RR. The angle is pretty sweet. It is an afternoon or morning sit kinda tool in my opinion and a good one.
Heading out to practice tomorrow with a friend. Will have an update.

Got the mower deck all cleaned up, greased up, and hooked up to the tractor so the boys could start mowing today. Went over to my machinist's place and got to check out the new version of our cam cleat alternative. He's heading over to see our buddy the engineer for some tweaks. Came back and replaced a perfectly good water pump on my old 2003 F150 - turns out it was the tensioner pulley that failed causing the serpentine belt to shred. Oh well, at 260K it probably needed a new water pump anyway. Taking care of some business and then heading out to see if I can locate any turkeys to hunt Sunday morning.

I started re-siding this old granary we have on our place. The gable end needed new siding desperately.

Checked the front brakes on my truck (OK) and cut down a Berka style Covid mask for my wife to a smaller size and re-sewed it.

One last shed hunt for the year. Its starting to green-up quickly. Shed hunting is coming to an end for the year.
I did find the match to the smaller antler in the pic, but I didn't take a photo of it. I found about a dozen this year. Very average...nothing big.

Worked on insulating the rest of my garage and sheeting the walls with 7/16th OSB. The wife unit "helped" so I ended up throwing a tape measure, kicking the ladder over (it was the ladders fault) and taught the boys a new string of obscenities that I heard them repeat in the backyard while shooting their bows... I later had to sit them down and say, "For my sake and yours, don't repeat what I say where Mom can hear it."

This is day 51 since the Mrs. had been to work.

I used up all the boards i had for my siding project, then i climbed a tree and hung my platform for the first time and my hys strap as well. It worked great,i shot a few practice arrows and rappelled down, got the arrows back and climbed up again. I also tried to put the predator platform in a outside pocket on my backpack and it fit perfect.
I am psyched about my whole setup.

Finally got to use my saddle. Unfortunately it was to keep me from falling from extension ladder while removing a dead limb from above the chicken coop run that i finally finished today

Shot bow this am, worked on obedience with Labrador also. Planning a scouting trip to Colorado in June. Going to Oklahoma to drill some tree's this week or next. Still deciding which saddle to buy, mantis was uncomfortable for me, trying out a friend's phantom soon. Got 3 old trophyline saddles so all is not lost, lol. Glad Texas is opening, work has to go on, thank God.

Made the 1st canoe float of the year. 12 miles on Redbank Creek, Clarion county PA.
Perfect water level, which can be a rarity on that creek. Saw EIGHT bald eagles! 4 at one time...all mature with white heads. 2 other mature ones and 2 immature ones. I've never seen 8 in one day except for in Alaska.
Also discovered a deer pen along the creek. 3 bucks and 1 doe in it. 2 bucks already have crazy antler growth...gonna be nontypical freaks.
Nice float. A little chilly today but no wind. A good day.

I might float a creek here in central NY on Thursday. My fishing buddy and me did that last year for the first time and it was a blast. I caught my biggest brown ever from a creek,a 21 1/2 incher. I could not stop smiling the rest of the trip. It was great,i was in the stern of the canoe and most of the time i couldn't fish because i had to steer, the creek is not too mellow.

A good bow paddler steers as much as the stern paddler...maybe ever more.
My wife's a great boat partner. She can handle a lot of maneuvering from the bow, which gives more time to fish and enjoy a beverage.

Cut the grass, weed wacked, blocked down my servo motor to make up for a smaller pulley and welded a makeshift L-bolt for another servo motor.
