What did you do today?

I was missing one thing in my man-cave. A pole! No, not the stripper kind. The kind to hang from in a saddle. No more getting out of saddle shape during these WI winters and rainy springs. Now I can practice most shot positions from the comfort of the basement year round. Saweeeet!
I SOOOO want to do this. I need a pole in my basement and another off the deck in the back yard. Definitely on my wish list.

the pole is a 5”x8’ fence post from Menards for only $14. I picked out the one that had the biggest diameter and it was a little over 6”. Really cheap and quick project. Already had what I needed to fasten to the floor and joist on hand so no cost there for me.

We had a 20 year flooding event in our steam tunnels so I am on an indefinite dispatch to do repairs to get customers back online.
I ordered a Black Diamond Pilot belay and am itching to try it out. It auto stops but its recommended to keep a hand on slack end at all times.
I will run a friction hitch on it I think.

Well that won't be for at least a week.
The rest of you enjoy the weather!

Thats great news man. The clubs need the revenue for upkeep, taxes and target.
I was invited to the first shoot I have heard of here in WI. but I'm working straight thru at least to Thursday.

There were a lot of people at the shoot. Most have been canceled so far,but it seems some are starting up. It is pretty easy to social distance in the woods.

Climbed SRT in the local park.

Grilled for lunch. Finally got around to shooting the EZ V a bit. Was hitting vitals at 20 within a few minutes. Need to fine tune it but it's hot as balls right now. But so far it hasn't been too hard of an adjustment.

love the ezv, eliminated my problem of pulling the bow to be able to watch my arrow fly. has helped me in spot shooting significantly, but i havent been able to hunt with it yet.

This is my target after shooting today. This is at 20 yards. Grouping to the left a bit. The only ones not in the kill zone were a couple that hit the dirt because I adjusted the elevation too much. This is also after cutting grass and weed eating. So cut me some slack ha. Will definitely look into a proper 3D target.

Organizing the shop a little bit. Taking care of older projects that I can finally get caught up on. Ready to get back on my Platform build.

I used my saddle at work today. I was grinding joints on a chimney and i could not get around the left side very well,i am a righty. So i had the idea to grab my tether and saddle and see if that would help. It did,but it is still a crappy job. Dust galore, respirator, safety goggles and earmuffs.
Not quite what i imagined my saddle time to be,but better this practice than no pracitce. It was the longest stretch i sat in the saddle so far.20200528_155207.jpg
