What did you do today?

Scouted a few more spots today. Weather is looking really good for the opener on October 2nd. Shot the bow, went over my pack for the 1,000th time and cleaned out the truck. I'll def. scout a few more times this week just to scratch the itch

I haven't posted in a while..

This season I got two of my brothers interested in saddle hunting.
Like everyone else, they will have to find their way as to what they like or feel comfortable with.

They are already planning and buying gear but as they take to the trees they will start to see the need for refinements.

With that in mind I took pictures of what I carry and how it works for anyone that may benefit.

I will put up a post with pictures shortly.

Helped my neighbor cut some branches....wannabe arborist style....climbed a second tree and installed an anchor point with carabineer, attached anchor point to trunk of tree being trimmed and had him with a rope on the ground. The limbs would fall into his pumphouse so we had to control the limbs as they came down....once all the anchors set, I climbed up and attached the lowering rope and cut thru and helped lower the load....timber hitches everywhere. No injury and no damage.... :)

Thanks for the link. I wonder if natural daylight would be enough to recharge the glow.

When I was trying out sticks, I bought some glow paint at Michaels (Hobby Lobby) and got similar results. Haven't used them in the rain or field so have no idea what the durability is.

I tested it out tonight. It was the least favorable conditions (cloudy and overcast spiting rain) and it still looked pretty good. The pics are a little dimmer than what it looked like in real life.

Was hosted to dinner at Winnipeg Lake, In the beautiful home of the plant manager here. The lake was gorgeous. Huge lake. They were talking about how dangerous the lake could be if you didn’t know what you were doing. As nice as it’s been here I’m ready to get home Sunday! Lol.

Applied permethrin to my hunting clothes. A buddy of mine got bit by a Lonestar tick a couple weeks ago and develop that meat allergy. No Bueno. Stay safe guys.

gutting/renovating one of our bathrooms by myself in the evenings after work. i should have probably taken some time off instead of evenings only ,but here we are. hitting it hard in the evenings to preserve saturday for hunting. I started demo monday, once i finish pulling up the rest of the vinyl flooring/underlayment today Ill be done, unless I find some rot underneath. i think i will by the toilet unfortunately. thankfully so far surprises have been minimal otherwise and the crappy way the last builder did things actually worked in my favor when ripping things out. smashing and removing a built in cast iron tub is fun for the first few blows, then tiring.
 
Found out at noon today I have to stay 1 more week in Winnipeg, Ca. The worst part? It’s Canada thanksgiving and the plant isn’t working any extra people on Sun or Mon so I am stuck here with two days off! I need to go see something or do something but They’re Covid crazy up here!
