What do you enjoy doing now that the season is ending?

We still have all of January left so my season is 3/4 of the way done. As Yogi Berra used to say "It ain't over till it's over". When the curtain finally comes down, I will take a week or so and rest, then begin my post season scouting in earnest.

Same here (Feb 15th is the actual end) . After deer season there's a few weeks of squirrel season left and I like being able to scout and carry a 22 even though I'm not much of a squirrel hunter. For whatever reason, carrying something puts me in the mood to be out in the woods even it rarely gets used. Maybe a throwback to my childhood carrying a 22 everywhere on the farm. I like mountain biking around the management areas in the off season with plans to scout but don't actually get off the bike that much to hike :D

I'm still hunting over the state line in OH for a slammer, however, I also enjoy filling up the pantry, and sharing with others, various canned venison items.

So far I have done canned venison chunks (some Korean BBQ and some Sweet and Sour) and some venison Aloha Chili. Still have to do a regular batch of chili, venison vegetable soup, venison Sloppy Joe's and venison Cowboy beans and more chunked venison (I think some plain and some BBQ).

Been getting more pics of coyotes than deer over the past few mos so time to take up a new pursuit to thin the population. Also, waiting for new product developments for all in one stick to convert to next year...it never ends.
Merry Christmas to all!

Nothing.

Hello, [seasonal depression] my old friend...

I don't mind winter. It's the 6th or 7th month of it that really starts getting to me. I did just clean out my Jet to get it ready for snow sledding instead of deer sledding though...
sounds like you need some sunshine. I try to go to Fl and kayak the hot springs if I'm able. Snow looks nice, in the pictures lol

Back to bodybuilding and fitness. Just cranked out chest day today and 4 miles on 15% treadmill. Feeling like myself again..

me too. I’m going to do my first triathlon this may. So I’m throwing weights 4-5 days a week, trying to swim 3-4 and I just had day 1 on the peleton today so ill try to hit that 3-4 days a week.

Swimming is way harder than I thought. Right now I can only swim 150 meters before I die and on race day I need to go 750 hahahah.

I signed up for an adult hockey rec league that starts right after New Years. Monday nights at 9 and Saturdays at 10. Not sure I’ll have the Saturday night games in me or not, my five year old has me up at about 5:30 every morning. I’ve played once in the last ten years and maybe a dozen in the last 18 so it will be something new and fun.

My deer season doesn't end until the end of March, then turkeys are right around the corner. I have a very short, hot off season before archery starts again the first weekend of Sept.

This year I can bowhunt through the end of January. Normally I'd be transitioning to ice fishing now, but since I haven't filled a single tag yet this year, I'll be in the woods.

Couple more weeks left to go here. Down to the last few late season spots scouted from last year. Then my plan is to wander around various spots and map out some information for next year. Need to work in a trout stream or 2. And DEFINITELY get ready for Spring Gobbler 20223!

Duck hunting goes to Jan 29. Quail goes to feb 15. I do scouting, habitat stuff and tree prep in March. Start fishing in April. The heat of the summer goes a lot slower for me than the late winter and spring.

Season runs through Feb so I will still try to hang a few times and try to get another doe or two shot. Public land scouting and some trapping on my buddy's place will go til green up and turkey season.
