What is the quickest, lightest, and most affordable climbing method?

I’m saying even with throwing a throw ball accurately (I do) the set up takes time.

Feel free to film yourself walking up to a tree, unloading your climbing rope and throw ball, throwing it over the tree, unhooking your throw ball, tying in your rope, pulling your rope up, packing your throw line, hooking up your ascenders, climbing to hunting height, setting up your platform, tethering in, and pulling up your climbing rope. Then we can really see how quick SRT is. I’ve done it and done it and done it again but the timer doesn’t lie.
And again I say the wife filmed it at the Fl saddle hunter meet up event, 8:53 my friend…… 2 climbs to height and back. Granted I didn’t unhook my throwball and clean up my throw line but with my cube that only takes about 30 seconds extra. You should come next year and we can do a timed climb portion. I’ll even start with my rope in my back pack. I’m not saying I’ll be faster (although I’m positive if we do the whole shebang set up, up the tree, hang the platform, and bow, then pack up, climb down and pack up to leave, I think it would be close or I would win lol but Alabama isn’t that far away and if you get generous vacation time, you could come on down and show me up lol I’ll buy you a beer afterwards

I would like to try bolts but it seems it would be difficult to drill them on the left side. I just remember trying to screw in the old deer me steps back in the dark ages. The left side was always pretty tuff to screw in.
It's way easier to use a drill left handed than drive a screw in. The screw in gets harder to insert the deeper it goes. The drill bit doesn't.

Again, I think it’s better to show the set up and break down that is required to give people an accurate representation of what the system has to offer. This would be instead of just showing the quickest climb and ascend that is possible in ideal settings. I rope climb plenty, but I accept the things that are unique to rope climbing. I’m not sure why it’s necessary to disregard them

Also, I’d appreciate it if you would leave my occupation out of our discussions unless it adds value to the conversation. You’ve been making cheap comments in threads toward me personally and my occupation and I don’t think it is warranted. I don’t care what anyone on here does for a living, I just like talking about saddlehunting stuff. Respectfully.

Noted. I publicly apologize to you and will leave it out in the future so not to offend you

Alternatively, I've come full circle back to the Novix (lone wolf back when I first got them) mini single steps. 6lbs for 4 with the rope mod and they side stack as compact as anything I've seen stick-wise. Cheap. Proven design.
I'm not immediately familiar with those sticks, do you think they pack to a slimmer profile than the shikars do? That was my huge draw to them was being able to pack them tight

That's my "may see the game warden" climbing system for the last 2 seasons. I keep the straps in a dump pouch on my saddle.

The best climbing system depends on what type of tree your trying to get in. Videos are typically made in trees that are ideal for the method being promoted. I think a gnarly hedge tree would be frustrating for the the acronym climbing folks.

Can you define hedge tree? When I looked it up all I got was bushes and hedge maples. None of which would anyone climb or hunt. If you are referring to trees with low branch canopy and lots of limbs, I prefer those trees as long as they have good available shooting paths.

I’d climb that the way kids climb trees in the front yard lol when it’s all greened up though you wouldn’t have much in the way of shooting lanes. I’d like to see stick guys climb this tree

Had a perfect tree like that....really big around (unsure now of species) with a low nest of thick forks about 10 feet up. It got hit by lightning and one of the big forks fell but stayed alive with a thick connection to the rest of the tree and even grew branches up to act as hand rails. You could walk right up it like it was a wheelchair access ramp! Killed a doe out of it.

Seriously in that tree, I’d hitch the rope at ground level, and use a push stick to advance it to height, pass the branch that’s about 8’ up and continue on my SRT climb.
Do you carry a push stick every hunt? I’ve heard of people using sections of pvc so it breaks down.
