I thought the same thing when I read that. Incidentally I found a patch of Osage Orange I’m planning on cutting one to make some staves. They are so knarly crooked though!!!Bows and duck calls for days...
not as light as some of the 2TC posts here, but I use 12" EWO 1stick with Ultimate Platform, 35' 8mm resctech, safeguard, Cruzr XC saddle. That's it. roughly 6lb of gear to get safely up and rappel down tree.
Here's my method if interested in this gear.

for those talking bolts, iused to use them on my private properties and the cost was as much as a cheap ladder stand in the end, plus they were a work out to put in.
