What's the easiest way to read a book in a tree in a saddle?

To all u suggesting some type of electronic device let me ask u 1 thing.....will that device do u any good when u forget TP? Didn't think so......books>tech
Picturing Weldabeast trying to wipe with a movie then a book. Yup, he likes the book best!

I just do not understand and honestly feel sorry for folks that need to carry alternate entertainment into the woods while they hunt. There is so much to see and learn all around us in creation and have never left the woods bored.
Yep. Read the woods not a book.
If time outdoors bores you then ........

If I'm not reading something I'm likely fidgeting. If I'm staring at a screen I get too engrossed and miss stuff. My balance is to bring an old paperback I've read before. I put a leaf or something at the next chapter break as a reminder to stop, look around, and do a slow, deliberate 360-degree glass.

You will want to have a plan to quickly and silently stash your book. I've used hoodie pockets and tucked books under my bino pouch in the past. You might have your pack placed so that you can access your coffee mug and stash your book when the time comes. You might also want to dummy-cord your book to your pack somehow because you will probably drop it at the worst possible time.

I'm partway through GOT myself and will probably switch between that and WEB Griffin this year.

I picked up this Kindle case for use while hunting so I can clip it to my tether or gear strap:

Used it with a soft shackle today and it was awesome!

I wanna read Game of thrones, while trying to get medieval on them deers...

Please provide guidance, and kindest Regards,

So I use a Kindle. I agree that it is somewhat of a distraction from deer hunting, but for me it helps pass the long hours. I put my Kindle in "airplane" mode and the battery lasts a really long time. Mine is an old school kindle with an actual button to turn the page. So works with gloves, 1 handed etc.

Now, what I am really concerned about is your wish to read GoT. Great books, but in my opinion, there will never be a payoff. The last 2 or whatever books will never get written. That's what I think.

Good luck!

Reading "Game of Thrones" in a tree saddle sounds like quite the adventure! To make your reading experience enjoyable and safe, here are a few tips:
1. Choose the Right Tree: Pick a sturdy tree with a comfortable saddle or platform to sit on. Safety first!
2. Secure Your Book: Use a book holder or clip to keep your book open. You'll need both hands for balance.
3. Good Lighting: Ensure you have adequate light, especially if you're reading during twilight or in the evening.
And if you ever decide to explore the magical world of Harry Potter, you can find the harry potter books in order. Happy reading, and may your tree reading adventures be epic!
@redsquirrel, @boyne bowhunter, @Jefferson10940...as somebody who ChatGPTs a lot, this dude isn't real and I'd eat gas station sushi before I clicked that link.
