Where’s ur hunting property??

I've been hunting Ohio the last few years public and 75 acres that I lease.
Hunt Big Woods northern Maine up by Moosehead Lake.
Hunt swamps around my house, I don't seem to get many days hunting at home. I plan on changing that and bang out of work early more often to get up a tree.

45 acres at back door with No pressure and good bucks on it. Family place is 15 minutes away with around 400 acres to hunt surrounded by ag fields. It ha minimal pressure and great bucks. 400 acre lease 30 minutes away with decent bucks and mega pressure. Homochitto National Cutover is 45 minutes away With good bucks and mega pressure.

I hunt 2 public parcels: one about 30 min away, the other about an hour and a half. I also have permission to hunt a couple private parcels, both about 30 min away. One is a small, about 10 acres. The other is 70 ac...

I have 1,000,000+ acres of public within about 90 minutes. I bounce around a lot. Get bored hunting same places. Generally the more I drive the more I get away from people and the better hunting.

Cousins have a camp with 400 acres and bordering small public parcel. Two hours away I get out there a couple weekends a year for the camp experience.

Would like to get more out of state hunts in. MD is about a 2 hour drive and I have spots in WV about 3. Used to hunt OH a lot but the public hunting there really fell off a cliff through the 2010s.

I assume you’re talking about SE Ohio public land? What happened to it? Just too much pressure around? Sadly I live in Ohio but have never made it down there to try hunting it yet.

I have a little bit of all three. Got 3700 acres out the back door, well over 10000 acres within an hours drive, and a large national forest that we have a cabin in about 3.5 hours away. All public and I hunt it all! We are blessed here in Pa with an abundance of public lands that are relatively well managed.

Ohio did a significant herd reduction. The last time I went there I think was 2016 and we hunted hard for a week and saw just a handful of deer and no good bucks. The state gets a lot of press and posts and attracts a lot of hunter from all over the Eastern US. Pressure can be nuts in the rut when I go out of state to hunt. Another factor is I moved farther away and 4-6 hours to scout is just too much for me to get out there regularly

Either Ohio peaked about 2010, or I did, or maybe / probably both.

Gotcha. Yeah I know it does bring in a lot. It’s such good wilderness down there but I’ve never been around it during hunting season. I should say not the public areas anyway. I’m sure it’s insane especially during gun season. Yeah that is a serious haul just to scout. I’m about 3 hours from all that and I still can’t find the time to go down and even check it out let alone scout or hunt.

Where from in NW Pa? I grew up in Oil City. Camp is in Hearts Content about 35 minutes from Kane.
I grew up in Erie. My grandparents lived in Oil City (Siverly). I have camped at Hearts Content and Ministers Creek many times. Pretty country

I hunt all public across the street from my house.in MA. I will however travel to NY this year to hunt my sisters small private parcel for my first season with the recurve.

I live on our 300 acre "tree farm" that we manage for timber production. Down the road 5 minutes tes is several thousand acres of Hoosier National Forest that is open to public hunting.

I hunt local public (an hour and a half drive), my in laws private 135 acres and 3 hr drive, and a 1000 acre lease I lucked in on at a steal in MO 8 hours away. I am expanding my public ground though as I like to challenge myself.
