while saddle hunting....

I started off with the HME bow hanger and strap and when I used a climber it was worth the hassle (i.e. heavy, loud, not easy to store, etc) to have something that I could adjust to be be within arms reach. I have tried the hero clip and love using them to hold my bag and some miscellaneous gear (binos when I don't have my bino harness or calls or rattles) but just don't care to hang my bow from one because if you leave the quiver on like I do you are raking your arrows against the tree if you are storing it on the grip arm side. I do use the HYS strap and love that thing for versatility hanger so I came across this and have weaved the HYS strap through the strap holes for the approximate tree size that I hunt. Love it so far. I have found my tree sizes are usually very consistent or enough that I can factor them out using hys strap quick tension adjustment it goes on fast, packs easier and holds my bow away from the tree so I can leave my quiver on. Just like to leave the quiver on for a go to follow up shot, second deer opportunity or the most likely reason that I missed completely on the first:grinning:

I have also seen some pictures on here where some guys are using a plastic fold down tree step looking thing that has a quick connect groove built in, that might be even more packable and lighter. I think I am going to stick with this for a while and try to stop spending so much $$$ on the highest quality meat that man has ever known :)

I can take pictures of my setup if anyone is really that interested.

Id like to check out your setup!

HYS strap + hero clip. It works well. I was sceptical too but after using it all last year I'm confident.

HYS strap is a great piece of gear. Find whatever hook you feel confident with and use it in conjunction with the strap and you will be happy

I checked out their website just now and I like that bow holder but everything on their website is sold out. Weird....
Genesis is taking a break from production for the month of July. He posted on his FB page that he will begin taking orders again at the first of august I believe. I have his bow hanger and I really like it.

https://www.backwoodsmobilegear.com/shop-online/amsteel-gear-hanger and a Hero Clip. I used a homemade gear hanger last year and it worked fine with the clip. This year I will use the Backwoods hangar, small and easy to use without to much jacking with it. The Hero Clips are pretty secure in my opinion. I have never had my bow give the impression that it was gonna take the quick way down.

I just use this on my spare tether/lineman's belt to hang my bow. It has a weight limit of 25lbs, well above the weight of my bow.

You guys don’t hold your bow the whole time you hunt?
When I sat in a tree stand I did. When I first started bow hunting I missed a whopper because I hung my bow because my hands were cold. I didn't hang it for 26 years after that. I do hang it now in the saddle.
