For what reasons, sir?
1 - I really like C-IV for tethers and this one is 'souped-up' C-IV
2 - I like sewn loops better than knots on the end of my ropes
3 - it's from Brocky
4 - my current favorite foot tether is in really rough shape
For what reasons, sir?
Thanks. I was playing around a lot with Drt trying to make it work. I really liked it and it is a fun way to climb but the trees I have are just not conducive to it. Very few trees have load bearing limbs low enough. So, I was thinking if I had my Drt setup and got to the area and realized the tree I wanted to get in was a no go, then what? Make a 2TC out of 75 feet of Samson. I decided it probably wasn't too practical for me, but it was a fun experiment. That looks really clever. And if you used Pocono hitches you could bypass branches without having to pass anything through the loops.
How was the Blake's to tie on C-IV? How does it hold?1 - I really like C-IV for tethers and this one is 'souped-up' C-IV

Made a quick video where I try to slow down some of the moves in 2TC for beginners like @BackSpasm who are 2TC curious. I also try and show how a longer fixed bridge and top tether can be used to minimize your effort and be a little more efficient. I had a fun slip while describing what would occur if you slipped around the half way mark.
If it’s the stiff stuff we need to see a vid of it in action1 - I really like C-IV for tethers and this one is 'souped-up' C-IV

Where did you add the pex
I don’t hold my the tether like that on a normal climb. I was simply demonstrating that it’s part of my points of contact while moving it up. Feel free to use tether handles.Gonna be interesting if you slip with fingers from both hands between your top tether and the tree.
Maybe I'll take one using that new tether and doing the '2TC Crooked Tree Challenge'???If it’s the stiff stuff we need to see a vid of it in action
The rope is brand new AND supercharged so I actually had to add a wrap on the Blake’s...How was the Blake's to tie on C-IV? How does it hold?
My footloop is made from simple nylon webbing. 2 loops because I had enough webbing. I ran them through 18" or so of PEX, and ran both PEX segments thru a vinyl hose. Wrapped the whole mess with vet wrap. Now it's very comfortable to climb on.
Loop is girth hitched to the terminal loops of a Longhorn Agile and permanently lives at the end of my tether. I find thay it doesn't get in the way when I'm 1-sticking or whatever. It does help thay my tether ws probably 15' long before I started tying knots in it.
Ah, I see that now. By supercharged you mean it has a stiffener in the core? The rope is brand new AND supercharged so I actually had to add a wrap on the Blake’s...
Zoom in on the picture and you can count the wraps.
Please, oh please market that rope as the snake charmer or spaghetti charmer or somethingThinking the softer method is stiff enough?

Got much to stiffen my rope? Is that HTP?Thinking the softer method is stiff enough?

Gonna try the amsteel stiffener on my 7.9mm ultratech and the C-IV to compare, but that certainly looks stiff enough!Thinking the softer method is stiff enough?

Now we need some break tests...When is @Brocky going to start producing tethers with @Samcirrus's wire mod inside?
Now we need some break tests...
I only want it for the foot tether at this time so I’ll risk itI can't speak for Brocky but he's told me that he's waiting on break test results on stuff that's headed to me.
Then I put it through my own 'real life' test...
