Maybe that's a typo but I'd have a hard time shooting anything from 100 feet up in a tree!
Unless you're talking abt rock climbing....
Tree work can be waayyy over 100'.

Now I get it... and here I was thinking it'd have something to do with saddlehunting...Tree work can be waayyy over 100'.

That height could have some advantages. It would be hard to get winded and you could just drop a 10 pound kettlebell from up there...no tracking involved. Now I get it... and here I was thinking it'd have something to do with saddlehunting...
I mostly bow hunt here in Georgia and we are very fortunate to have a super long deer season ! I get a lot of chances to climb and hunt so this whole saddle thing has just begun. You can bet your azz I’ll be 2TC too, at some point!SRT is my primary method as well. I've also forgotten SRT stuff and had to use my 2TC gear to climb SRT. I've also screwed up my rope placement such as getting a canopy anchor snagged on a lower, weaker limb which forced me to 2TC to de-snag it.
Oh my goodness. I absolutely love this idea! Great thinking!OK, I tried it again this morning and the first attempt keeping my left foot in the foot loop was slow and awkward for me. Lots of huffing and puffing and not much height. Second attempt was better taking my foot out of the loop each time. I got a bit more height the second time. Less huffing and puffing. After the second climb I was looking at the bottom tether and though can I simplify this and make it adjustable. Here is what I came up with. The knot attaching the end of the main rope to the Distel hitch would need to be a better knot, probably a 2 wrap scaffold knot like the one that attaches the delta link to top tether. Set up this way it is pretty easy to adjust. Thoughts?
High praise from the main 2tc man! That made my day!Oh my goodness. I absolutely love this idea! Great thinking!
Tie a simple bowline in that tether to prusik connection
this may be the footloop solution I've been overlooking definitely going to give this a shotOK, I tried it again this morning and the first attempt keeping my left foot in the foot loop was slow and awkward for me. blakes hitch and a stopper knot on the end of it has some serious potentialMaybe even simplify it further and just tie a blakes hitch from the one piece of rope?
Think most friction hitches work because friction hitch cordage is a smaller diameter than the main line.Maybe even simplify it further and just tie a blakes hitch from the one piece of rope?
That's what I was thinking...I use it for DRT so It should work on same size rope.blakes hitch and a stopper knot on the end of it has some serious potential
To dos for summer: buy a longer rope, and practice kettle ball aiming! That height could have some advantages. It would be hard to get winded and you could just drop a 10 pound kettlebell from up there...no tracking involved.
Nice idea for a K.I.S.S system! I know I cant do it though cuz my arches are sensitive and I really need a wide footloop! But great creative ideas!Oh my goodness. I absolutely love this idea! Great thinking!

I'm actually in the process of installing an 8 foot tree trunk in my basement to do practice, testing and some videos on since waiting for winter to end in order to practice outside is pointless!
I'm learning with you.this might help.my footloophas a tether to the friction hitch close to groin height. Maybe could be 2 inches lower.but this puts the friction adjuster always in easy reach.if you don't want to hold your foot up when you raise the foot tether.just loosen the friction hitch to raise it ,then lift your foot with the prusic tender.edit .this hitch is a little to high .it stretched.should be just above the knee but below the groinOK, I tried it again this morning and the first attempt keeping my left foot in the foot loop was slow and awkward for me.
