wrist strap release recommendations?

hi all, I've tried to search but unfortunately release is a pretty common term, so apologies if this thread is super super redundant. I'm looking to replace my release- the one I got initially was a tru fire patriot, and it's too short (perhaps I got a junior version accidentally? who knows) anyhow it's going to be replaced before this next season starts up.

I don't want to change things up too much so planning on staying with a (right hand) wrist strap, caliper style release. exploring hinges and all that is a thing for a different time.

The scott shark, scott little goose, B3 alpha, and truglo nitrus releases are the most common i've seen reccomended online, but wanted to see if there were any opinions here before making a purchase, i don't have (or at least don't know of) any local archery shops to go in and ask, just stores like bass pro etc. (this is not a WTB outside of the classifieds, so for that type of reply please PM me instead of replying here).

I have not shot the scott releases but have several buddies that do and really like them. I shoot a really old Fletch Hunter but I think they are still available. It has been a bullet proof release for me that I have had since 88 or 89. Shot a cobra for a while and didnt have any trouble with it either. I will try to remember to look when I get home and if I can find it you can have that one. At worst it would make a good back up.
 
I tried a lot of the budget releases, but got my hand on a Carter Quickie+ and I think it is worth the price. I know you want to stay caliper but I think you should consider sear also because they have smoother operations, less moving parts, less chance of misfire. The trufire hardcore would be my second recommendation.
 
I’ve had both the Scott Little Goose and the Scott Wildcat 2. My little goose was stolen with my old bow. My current release is the Wildcat 2. Love it! Can’t go wrong with the Scott releases.
 
i've fallen down a rabbit hole researcing this afternoon. potentially willing to look at hook releases as well- the B3 hawk and spot hogg wiseguy are leading the charge on that part of analysis paralysis.

i'd rather have a rigid release than a strap connection, but thanks for the reccomendations. off to check out the hardcore...
 
The only brand and model I've used is trufire hurricane and that is mainly because they are in stock at a local store. I'm following along to this thread. They only lasts a season or 2 and gets rusty and the metal pits under the powder coat creating ruff spots that wear out the d loop faster than normal. Other than that I really like them. I like the release mechanism being on a strap vs rigid
 
Scott Shark for me. I own two as one is for back up which is always with me incase I drop my main one. I've shot a lot of different styles and I can't get away from Scott and specifically the Shark for myself.
 
I’ve shot a Hardcore as well. I liked that one as well.

Scott releases. Thumbs up! I liked the truefires. Good reviews, but did not like buckle. Look at most of the scotts vs the truefires. Not an issue I'm sure. But a personal preference to have the strap pass in and out where you adjust it, versus just in.
Also consider if you want it to fold back out of the way. They all do not so that. I find it helpful if I wear it while climbing up and down the tree. These were a few things I considered when I replaced mine.
 
I've tried a few different releases and keep coming back to my Scott Little Goose. Only thing I would change is I would have gotten the buckle instead of the velcro strap.
 
Scott used to be great. Quality has fallen off since the sale of the company. B3 makes a good release and i believe is the old owner of Scott. The Stan index is very nice and I love the carter quickie. The truball beast is a nice release easy to find. There are a lot of choices, you should try and shoot them before making a choice.

Spot Hogg Wiseguy would be my suggestion. I’ve shot many of the Scott releases, and they’re not bad but don’t compare to the Spot Hogg. Much more adjustment and fine tuning available. Buy once, cry once.
 
The scott shark is my newest release and I love it its basically the same as the little goose. I have a truefire patriot that I got to replace my lost little goose but I cant stand it. I feel like I couldn't shoot the true fire as good as my scotts
 
I have the Stan Xstinction2 I have hardly used, but when I got this a while back it had great reviews, not cheap though, and mine I think has webbing and a hook.
