XOP Platform kits?

I am interested but have some questions first.

1. What type of rope are you using, hoping its amsteel?
2. How long is the rope?
3. Are you using hardened screw and nuts?
 
The rope is 3/16 amsteel, and the yellow bolts are grade 8. The flat head screws are not but they don't see any force. I will have to measure the rope. But I start out with 12 feet. Some of that gets used with the sliding part of the ucr. But the tail is long enough that you can remove the sliding part and use it as a stepp knot or splice a whoopie loop into it if you prefer.

ok guys. I have a bunch of parts on order, on their way. I will be hunting most of next week in WI, but hope to get enough of these kits built over the holiday weekend to get them out for everyone the following monday. That being said, I need to go through this post and my PM's and get a list of who wants what. I will try to do that today or tomorrow and post what I find.

I'm taking this and some tape and hitting the road. I will test it out after the morning hunt and perhaps set it up for my late season hunts. May leave it out with a ratchet for the next few weeks. Got one decent buck coming into the same field from the same bedding area every night. Not my target but I'd take him after this weekend. Time to start duck hunting in mid-December.

I just got my platform from Ernie this week. Tested setting it up in the backyard and will be hunting out of it for the 1st time tomorrow. I will report back but it is solid as of right now. I did away with the UCR system and am tying a stepp knot instead (I found it was just easier for me to adjust and get the cam action) and there was plenty of amsteel to wrap around a tree way bigger than what most of us hunt out of. I will probably take a few but I'll do that after the season when I can replenish my funds only to spend it all again on the plethora of gear I already have lol

Ok guys, I owe you an update.
I have been super busy with hunting both in and out of state, but have managed to get some machining done. I also did some homework. The hardware that comes with the xop pieces is already Grade 8, so there is no need to change that out. This saves a couple of dollars. (i couldn't believe what they charge for grade 8 Nylon lock nuts!)

I sat in the machine shop aka my garage, and drilled out 40 pieces of the center post. The steel plate is harder to make and is harder on my tools, so I got a hold of a friend of mine at a sheet metal house and he is making them for me. I had to order 40 to get them at a good price, and so that is why I decided to build 40 kits. They are a little more expensive than if I make them by hand, but they look a lot nicer and there is no labor lost on my end. I figure since I won't need to supply the grade 8 hardware, I can spend those couple of dollars on nicer plates. I hope to get the plates toward the end of the week. I am working out of town this week, but that will give me lots of airplane time to splice ropes. Sooo. long story short, I hope to get the plates and be able to ship when I get back. I was really hoping to get these out faster and I apologize for the wait.

here is who i have listed for kits so far. Please let me know if I missed anyone or if the numbers are incorrect.

Was hanging from a tree Sat morning silently cursing at my current platform and wishing I had the XOP one already...
