XOP Platform kits?

You're not shipping any bolts? Do all the necessary bolts come with the brackets and seat from XOP?

Yes, the seat comes with the attachment bolt and with the leveling bolt and also a cushion.

The brackets come with attachment bolts as well

It didn't seen to make any sense top replace them. They are already black instead of gold, and are closer to the right length needed. The bolts I was able to find were a little longer than I would have liked.

When do you want payment for these @Erniepower and when will they start shipping?
I am waiting on the plates. I have enough of everything else sitting at my house to put these together. I don't want to collect any money until i am confident that everything fits together as it should. I am out of town today but will be contacting the sheetmetal house when i return tomorrow.

I'm hurrying guys......

A couple of you have expressed concern about the hole in the bar getting deformed by the seat bolt. Especially with a heavier guy. I ordered some stainless steel inserts from mcmaster carr to play around with. my hope is to be able to press these inserts into the bar and prevent the bolt from damaging the holes in the bar. I will let you know how this goes. (basically i need something to tinker with while i wait for the plates to show up.)

Are the steel plates still required if you fill the tube with something solid, like a piece of wood and with the rubber bumper on the XOP platform leveling bolt?

Honestly I don't know if it's necessary even if you don't fill the tube, but I like to overbuild stuff so it's stronger than needed. It's the conservative engineer in me.

Ernie, I'm in for one as well. Will follow this thread for payment details and timing!

I am new to the forum and saddle hunting. This platform would certainly be a game changer. I am interested in two Erniepower, they look awesome! Thank you!

The jb weld gave way on my plate. I used marine grade pop rivets to re-attach the plate to the tube. Works extremely well. You may consider this instead of screws.

Mine are marine grade with rubber gaskets.

Just drilled my seat out and modified my xop beam to accept a 5/16" bolt. I picked up a grade 8 bolt that had a long enough non threaded shank to eliminate thread in high stress contact points. This should eliminate the thread from cutting into the seat and post, maintaining a tight fit over a longer period of time. No testing yet, but in my hands it feels much better.

So I just need to order the seat and the bracket from the replacement parts on XOP's website?

Looks like the seat is $49.99 and bracket is $9.99. Does that sound right?
