Introducing the FlinginX Super-Pro-Premium platform!

Less noise potential than pulling it up after you climb I would think. Covering it with a drawstring bag might be worth looking into

That thought actually did cross my mind. Some kind of soft camo bag would be kinda nice for it.

How are you guys carrying the platform while climbing? I tied a loop of paracord to mine on Saturday and just slung it over my shoulder as I was going up the tree. Seemed to work ok but the potential for noise is there since it could swing and hit something. My first hunt this year will be about 75 yards from a buck bed so I'm trying to get my setup as silent as possible before that hunt lol

I clip mine into the gear loops of my harness or haul loop if have a stick on both sides.
I'm rocking this thing. I had a friend at work machine a spacer out of stainless and press it into place. No more washers....

I get to hunt for the first time on Saturday. I'll let you guys know how it goes.

The platform itself is very strong, but remember that it isn't supporting your entire weight. The saddle and bridge are transferring a fair percentage of your weight to the tree. At no time should the platform be considered life supporting. That is what your tether is there for.

I didn't use 1.25"X1.25" tubing... I used a 1.25"X0.75" solid bar, so I put the hole dead center in the bar. Had to replace the angle adjustment bolt with a longer one due to the thinner riser though.

How do you get on it to set your tether up without it seeing all your weight? Several times over my sits this weekend I grabbed the back of the tree and stood up for 5min totally relieving any saddle pressure. I also plan to be able to turn 360 on it like its a small conventional tree stand. This is why I use support ropes and dont trust it not to bend without them.

I put a pair of shoulder straps on mine, attached to the seat. I jogged/walked with it on my back along with 3 hawk sticks. Works awesome and when I get to my tree ill change to one strap and climb like that. While not ideal I climbed with it in my hand this weekend since its so light and the tree was already prepped with screw in steps.

Love the tape mod flinging, was that the stuff for steps? I had no problems with slip this weekend, but it want wet either.

Ernie, sweet camo job!

I have been setting the platform at the same height as my top step on my stick. I'm typically still on my stick with a lineman's belt when I'm hooking into my tether.

I got it from lowes on a roll. It works really nice!

Oh, i use the platform as a way to get additional height.

With three sticks and three two-step aiders, I am typically at canopy height of our post oaks. I have many locations where I can't even use all of the aiders.

Any of you guys use the platform after climbing with spikes? Gonna try it out tomorrow but was wondering if anyone had any tips lol. I did figure out a way to hook the platform to my pack and it makes it very easy to carry

You ever get hit in the back of the head with that setup? I am still trying to find a way to attach my sticks and platform to my backpack, but I don't have any tie off points like your molle loops. What kinda of pack is that?

It actually doesn't even come close to hitting me I made sure haha. It's a Direct Action Dragon Egg pack. Laser cut Molle loops and tons of room for the size of the pack. I love it!

I called them and they wouldn't sell parts. I think you have to sacrifice a stick. There is a guy on AT that has 4 for 110 shipped if a couple of guys wanted to split them up

The platform will fit inside my pack no problem. I use an Alps pack. I strap my sticks to the outside and could probably fashion a system to put them all together. I may mess around with that.

I need to figure a way to get it in my hand at installation height. I usually only have 1 LW stick hanging off my hip. So I suppose I could hang it from my other hip.

I don't think I want to pull it up. Any other suggestions?

I think I'm just gonna sling the platform over my shoulder as I climb. I don't use a full set of sticks though so that might make a difference in your situation.

I tore my platform down a bit ago and looked it over for stress/bends/etc. and everything looked great and I think it will hold up just fine. I will be trying to climb with my spikes tonight and setting up the platform to make sure that will work. I'll keep you guys updated on that. Season opens Saturday!! WOOHOO!
