Introducing the FlinginX Super-Pro-Premium platform!

I like the bushing & pin idea.
I'm wondering using that concept inside the tube for backing up the platform, anyone gone that route?
I'll post pictures when I get that part done. I have to order the part since my local store didn't have one long enough

Flingin was faster than me, and I had to buy new brackets. But here's the one I made. I will be putting a steel bushing/spacer in for the seat pin and removing the washers. I used xop brackets tip and bottom since I bent/broke the muddy brackets. I will probably add grip tape like flingin as well.

Ok guys, great looking platform, where is the hole position on the 1.25 tubing for the platform ,and is that cast platform really that strong?

The platform itself is very strong, but remember that it isn't supporting your entire weight. The saddle and bridge are transferring a fair percentage of your weight to the tree. At no time should the platform be considered life supporting. That is what your tether is there for.

I didn't use 1.25"X1.25" tubing... I used a 1.25"X0.75" solid bar, so I put the hole dead center in the bar. Had to replace the angle adjustment bolt with a longer one due to the thinner riser though.

On 1" tubing I did center, but I also had a spacer for the leveler. I would think go 1/2" from the back on 1 1/4 tubing,

Agreed. Dead center but you can adjust slightly depending on thickness of optional contact plate or the amount of adjustability you want in either direction.

I didn't measure but on mine i went closer to the back of the tube so it would be easier to keep it level

Cut the outside tips of the top muddy bracket off this morning and I think it will be fine now. The two inner prongs make contact so that should spread the pressure out a little better

It sounds like the bugs have been worked out. What's the final parts list and where should I order so I can purchase the parts and build me one of these?

This is great!!!. I am hoping it will hold my fat***. Is that grip tape noisy on bottom of boots?

Not at all. No noise from the platform that I could hear!

I posted a parts list farther back in the post. Everything for my build is the same as that. If you don't have Muddy brackets you can buy the XOP ones when you order the seat.

I'm rocking this thing. I had a friend at work machine a spacer out of stainless and press it into place. No more washers....

I get to hunt for the first time on Saturday. I'll let you guys know how it goes.

Now that I think about it the XOP website has a 350lb weight rating. When you sit most of the weight would be on the seat so I assume the platform should be strong enough. So sticks and platform should be about 12lbs. I don't count saddle because it weighs very little and can be worn in. Now you are talking about a mobile setup!!!

I am thinking maybe using a small steel plate for reinforcement instead of aluminum. Maybe one of my old hockey sticks might work to reinforce inside of aluminum tube.

That looks like a great solution. It should take a lot of the stress of of the end

How are you guys carrying the platform while climbing? I tied a loop of paracord to mine on Saturday and just slung it over my shoulder as I was going up the tree. Seemed to work ok but the potential for noise is there since it could swing and hit something. My first hunt this year will be about 75 yards from a buck bed so I'm trying to get my setup as silent as possible before that hunt lol
