    Treebolts revisited

I have been trying to plasti-dip my grade 8 hex bolts, the black rubber adhered to the first bolt but the next two I tried the rubber will not adhere, I even cleaned the bolt with alcohol, any suggestions?

    Treebolts revisited

I drilled some holes for steps a week ago, left twigs in the holes and took the bolts home, yesterday the twigs were still in the hole even after a hard rain and high winds. Confident I can do the bolts in the dark now, will still use a headlamp on red beam. Bolts rock, cant believe I am just...

    Treebolts revisited

I bought 10 grade 8's and drilled a tree last weekend. I still think they will be a hassle in the dark. I am only using them to get up to my regular steps. I will leave twigs in the holes so I can feel them in the dark. I could barely see the holes in the daylight much less in the dark.

    thoughts on platform height...

Last year it was 30 feet to the treesteps I used for my Saddle base. I would still have deer look up at me, of course as longs as I was still I was fine. The tree did not offer much cover in the way of branches. What are your thoughts on height to base?

Trophyline Saddle saftey harnes loops need to be moved...

When you look at the Kestrel and the new saddle from Tethrd you see the loops where the safety/climbing harness attaches are out wider than the Trophyline, this would seem to make it easier to use. Anyone ever sew on loops out wider, and if so what and how do you suggest?

    Bullman silent approach system?

Thought on the Silent approach system? The pluses I see are weight, quiet, I like the idea if you do fall on your tree devices they wont impale you. The Downside looks to be you cant get as high with the one step at a time system. Anybody ever use it. I could see starting with a couple of...

Treesteps got stolen, Wildedge steps or Muddy Pro sticks?

Do you leave the bolts in the tree, or is the hole drilled large enough that you just insert the bolt and take them out when you leave, also if you put the bolts in in the dark, how do you see the holes?

No date on My Ameristeps....good to go?

I have three strap on Ameristeps that I never used, I thought I would buy a strapworks ratchet strap for about $10.00 and have a decent platform. There is no date on the steps, would you think it foolish to use them? I am only 155lbs.

Treesteps got stolen, Wildedge steps or Muddy Pro sticks?

Found another muddy pro stick I forgot about, I have six, fooled around with a couple of sticks in the back yard, I think I can get up to 22 feet easily and safely and not strain my old 58 year old knees too much. I will have to hang 3 sticks from my tree saddle with bungie cord, maybe even...

Treesteps got stolen, Wildedge steps or Muddy Pro sticks?

Where can I get the drill bolt method you are talking about? I use to have some detachable treesteps, I used those on the lower portion of the tree and then put standard screw ins up higher, If they are going to steal from me at least make them work for it.

Treesteps got stolen, Wildedge steps or Muddy Pro sticks?

I was going to fix up a ratchet strap from strapworks with 3 Ameristeps, but they may be on the recall list so now I am thinking about ordering 3 Wildedge steps for a platform, that way I can work with the steps and see how I like them compared to my sticks and maybe end up buying more steps...

Ameristep strap on step recall information

Crap, I have three steps that have the 155 model number, there is no "08" on the steps that I can see. I was going to get a strap from stapworks with a ratchet and make a three step platform.

Treesteps got stolen, Wildedge steps or Muddy Pro sticks?

Two months before the season and I went to go check on a tree I saddle hunt in and someone had stolen the screw in tree steps I had in it. I am afraid to put screw in steps back in now. I own 5 muddy pro sticks and have never used them, I have been looking at videos of Wildedge steps and was...

Trophyline Tree Saddle verses Kestrel (do I need to change?)

Considering I have two treesuits which have their own advantages, three Trophyline, the leather, neoprene and the mesh, I guess I really have no choice but to try a Kestrel, because as we all know, we need more gear!

Trophyline Tree Saddle verses Kestrel (do I need to change?)

I have 3 Trophyline tree saddles, I have both versions with different climbing/safety belt. I like my Saddles but I am wondering if I really need to spend $250.00 to get the Kestrel. Is it more comfortable? I know it is nice not to step through to put it on the Kestrel but what other...
